Tripoli Gallery, founded in 2009 as The Tripoli Gallery of Contemporary Art, was located in Southampton for 10 years, and moved to its new permanent location in Wainscott, New York in November of 2019. Tripoli Gallery has been serving a

s a dynamic platform for artistic dialogue between local and international artists and the East End community since its inception. Trip believes that each exhibition he curates acts as a frozen moment of those artists' history - recorded, preserved, and globalized into perpetuity.

In Son, 2026, Katherine Bernhardt works with very neon pink tones, spray paint, thinned-out acrylic, and loose, utilitarian brushwork. Drawing from her index of everyday images and popular culture, Bernhardt’s improvisational process embraces accident and chance; she allows the materials to shape the work.

We honor and remember Mary Heilmann today and forever. The day after her passing, August 15, 2026, is The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, one of the popular celebrations in the Catholic Church and Eastern Christianity.

In the Assumption, Mary is taken in body and soul into heavenly glory by God at the end of her earthly life. People believe it was a special grace given to her because of her role in the birth of Jesus.

For us, the feast is about hope. Mary’s Assumption gives people the promise that death is not the end, and that destiny is a glorious afterlife.

A beautiful opening night for Holy Mary!

Thank you to everyone who joined us Saturday to celebrate the artists and the opening of our newest group exhibition, featuring works by Katherine Bradford, Katherine Bernhardt, Ann Craven, Salvita De Corte, Sally Egbert, Lola Montes, Sabra Moon Elliot, Naomi Samara, Pat Steir, Mary Weatherford, and Lucy Winton.

Holy Mary continues Tripoli Gallery’s ongoing exploration of religion, narrative, and artistic agency. Bringing together eleven artists, the exhibition reclaims the idea of art as a vessel for belief and storytelling, with each artist acting as their own sacred content director. Moving between figure, abstraction, and material presence, the works offer personal narratives and modern talismans that invite us to find and decode our own truths.

Holy Mary is now on view at Tripoli Gallery through September 8, 2026.

Across her five-decade career, Pat Steir explored the relationship between gesture, gravity, and material. Her renowned pouring technique allowed paint to move and fall across the canvas, transforming process and chance into lyrical compositions. Deeply informed by art history and Eastern philosophy, her work continually expanded the possibilities of painting through experimentation and material exploration.

We are honored to present her work in Holy Mary and to honor her memory.

Working with flashe paint on heavy linen canvases prepared with white gesso and marble dust, Mary Weatherford builds luminous surfaces through layered, spontaneous applications of color. In this piece, she invites viewers to experience light, atmosphere, and space through an abstract interpretation of blossoming forms; using a palette of cool reds, magentas, and soft pinks that echoe both the fleeting beauty and energy of the season.

Join us tomorrow for the opening of Holy Mary, from 7–9 PM featuring works by Katherine Bradford, Katherine Bernhardt, Ann Craven, Salvita De Corte, Sally Egbert, Lola Montes, Sabra Moon Elliot, Naomi Samara, Pat Steir, Mary Weatherford and Lucy Winton. Tripoli Gallery is pleased to announce “Holy Mary” a group exhibition featuring Katherine Bradford, Katherine Bernhardt, Ann Craven, Salvita De Corte, Sally Egbert, Lola Montes, Sabra Moon Elliot, Naomi Samara, Pat Steir, Mary Weatherford, and Lucy Winton.

Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, August 8th, from 7-9pm.

In Holy Mary the content directors are the sacred beings and artists themselves named in this exhibition. Through their paintings we are given access to a truth, love, and honesty, that while being about their own personal narratives, together they act as perfect talismans for us to use to further understand our own. An exhibition that follows “Big Baby Jesus” which opened in Miami last December and “Paper Thin” which opened in Bali last May, the exploration of in place narratives continues.

Horsemen and the Lioness, 2024, reflects Angelbert Metoyer’s instinctive approach to painting upon improvisation. This work is unfolding energy and rhythm, even without following a fixed composition. The nature of this piece evokes familiarity, synchronicity, and déjà vu; all while allowing the painting to breathe beyond the artist himself.

A fitting reflection of this process: Angelbert completed this painting the night before the exhibition opened, embracing spontaneity and trusting the work to reveal itself in its own time.

These works from The Synchronicity Talisman: An Ancient Future Amulet Feast, reflect Angelbert Metoyer’s exploration of memory and transformation.

Referencing imagery encountered across years of travel, ancient Egyptian iconography, and the physical language of earth, the paintings become sites where history and personal mythology converge. In these layered surfaces, there is an evolution of Metoyer’s process, as he reimagines the past as something continually revisited, reinterpreted, and brought into the present.

Step into Angelbert Metoyer’s The Synchronicity Talisman: An Ancient Future Amulet Feast, now on view at Tripoli Gallery until August 3rd, 2026.

In these pieces, it demonstrates Angelbert’s layered and intuitive process. The materials used become the record of transformation itself,where memory and spiritual experience collide.
