My love for photography began at 10 when my mom gave me a 110 disposable film camera. Capturing moments fascinated me, leading to my journey in art photography. Growing up in the Great Smoky Mountains, I found inspiration in nature. Moving to Hawai’i in 2015 expanded my passion, with its culture, beaches, and ocean life. Black bamboo is the name of this species, found in many parts of the world, including Hawai'i. It can grow to about 30ft in height, and gets to be several inches in diameter. Given its proper name, I figured a black & white version of it was rather fitting.
