On May 30th in Connecticut, the Torrington Strawberry Festival gets underway as one of the state’s tastiest and most memorable spring events! Fresh strawberry shortcake, strawberry lemonade, strawberry pie, food trucks, local vendors, train rides, and photo spots all come together for one fun day in beautiful Coe Memorial Park. This 8th annual festival is free to attend, with a rain date of May 31st, making it an easy spring outing for families, food lovers, and anyone looking for a lively day outside. The main stop is “Strawberry Central,” set on the pavilion stairs in the center of the park, where visitors can pick up the festival’s famous strawberry treats and other sweet goodies. Around the park, vendors from Connecticut and beyond will be selling handmade and handcrafted items, giving visitors plenty to browse between bites. The Food Truck Arena adds lunch options, so there is no need to leave the festival to eat. Kids can ride the Strawberry Festival Express Train, while the official Strawberry Shortcake mascot will be walking around for meet-and-greets and photos. The handmade strawberry face cut-out adds one more fun photo stop.
