I wanted to inform you all that I have resigned from my position as the Technical Theatre Director at University High School.
I was offered a position at another high school to work alongside a theatre director I have long admired, and I couldn't pass up the amazing opportunity.
I'm sorry that this is happening over the summer, when I won't be able to say goodbye in person, but please know that Dr. Johnson graciously allowed me to sit in on some interviews, and I know that she has the best interests of our theatre program at heart and the new person will be kind, smart, and capable of leading you all into a bright future.
Saying goodbye to you all is incredibly difficult. This program has been my home for 11 years, and so much of my blood, sweat, and tears has gone into making it a safe space where we can all express ourselves and be creative. I have enjoyed working with so many incredible young people over the years, and I'm so proud of what we have accomplished together. I look forward to seeing what the next iteration of University Theatre will continue to build.
I know this coming year will be filled with changes that will be scary, sad, and exciting. I believe that you will each make the best of it and find fantastic ways to demonstrate your leadership in both performance and technical theatre.
If you need anything, or just want to write to say hello, you can find me at [email protected].
Goodbye and break a leg!! I love and will miss you all.
