Our August Community meeting is filled with exciting things!

Dalila Nebulosa, exhibiting artists, joins us for an artist talk. Come meet Dalila and learn about her journey as an artist, her creative process, and ask questions. This is a great opportunity to come visit her show which is currently on display here at the Arts Consortium managed Peter N Carey Gallery.

Starting at 5:00pm is the debut of our newest artist opportunity the Portfolio Showcase! Artist are invited to bring a portfolio that is max size 11”x17”. Share your creative skills, build connections, spark new collaborations. For further guidelines visit the Arts Consortium Linktree in our bio and click on Artist Opportunities. The portfolio showcase is also open to anyone who would like to view the portfolios and support our local artists.

“Splendora: Born from Beneath” is on display in the Arts Consortium-managed Peter N Carey Gallery — an exhibition by local artist Dalila Nebulosa. The exhibit explores the idea of growth and resilience emerging from challenging environments. Nebulosa’s body of work comes from lived experiences, from moments of uncertainty, quiet struggle, and learning how to keep going.

Dear Tulare County Arts Community and Beyond,

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the Arts Consortium for the past decade. I began as a Program Assistant and gradually took on greater responsibilities, helping steward the wonderful programs that Caroline Koontz and Mckenna Friend-Hoffman established.

Our team has changed many times over the years, but I hope we have honored their original vision while adapting and growing with the resources available to us.

I am incredibly proud of the positive feedback our events have received and of the way our community has embraced the new ideas and programs we have introduced. Most of all, I am proud of what we accomplished through the My Voice Media Center. It is the reason I joined the Arts Consortium, and in my humble opinion, it represents the most meaningful and impactful work I have had the privilege of being part of throughout my career at this orgaization.

As for my departure, the demands and joys of family life have grown significantly, and I have made the deeply personal decision to devote my time and energy to my wife, Stevi, and our four-month-old son, Mobius. A good friend once told me that being a father is "the best job in the world." At the time, I wondered if it was a little bit of an exaggeration, but now I know it to be completely true. I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to be present for these precious early months of his life.

I look forward to seeing the new and exciting directions the Arts Consortium will take after my departure, and I also look forward to the day when I can once again participate in its programs—not as a staff member, but as an artist.

Thank you for the kindness, encouragement, and support you have shown me throughout my time here. This work has been deeply rewarding, but it has also come with its share of challenges. I hope you will continue to champion and support the dedicated staff who carry this mission forward, so the Arts Consortium can continue to grow, inspire, and serve our community for many years to come.

Submit by this date to be included in artist Taste The Arts marketing (artist exclusive social media posts to Instagram and Facebook) and be included in the Booth Experience contest for a chance to win a prize. Submit by this date to guarantee your name in the festival booth directory.

🎨 Come Paint Volcano Girl with Me! 🌋

Join me for an open painting session where you can experience the creative process behind my character, Volcano Girl.

You’re welcome to simply watch as I paint on canvas, or, if you’d like, create your own interpretation of Volcano Girl in your own unique style.

Painting materials will be available, but you’re also welcome to bring your own supplies if there’s a particular medium or technique you enjoy working with.

No painting experience is necessary—the goal is to explore, create, and enjoy the process together. Every interpretation will be completely unique.

We are inviting artists to bring their portfolios to our next community meeting!

We wanted to create this opportunity for artists to share their art with other artists and the community, peer-to-peer mentorship and feedback, connect artists with F1rst Friday venues for hosting, and explore other beneficial opportunities.

‣ Only 8 portfolios will be accepted. (See Stand-by Participation in full call to artists)
‣ Reservations are on a first-come-first-served basis

THINGS TO KNOW
✨ Our first showcase will be free to participate. (Future showcases might include a small fee)

✨ Portfolio Max size: 11” x 17”

✨ Portfolios will be on display at designated tables for the duration of the community meeting and half hour before the meeting starts.

✨ Artists are encouraged to provide their business cards, artist postcards, or include a QR code to their information in their portfolio.

✨ A trigger and/or 18+ themes disclaimer in portfolio, when applicable, is required. (Please see full call to artists for details)

✨ Portfolios are subject for review prior to display during the community meeting.

✨ Artists who do not sign up but bring their portfolio will not be turned away. If space allows, additional portfolios may be selected for exhibit at our Membership Meeting, and will be considered at a first-come-first serve basis.

Community Invite!

The Center for Art, Culture, & History - EXETER (CACHE) will host a solo exhibition titled “ Moments” featuring paintings by local artist Miguel Pujol. The exhibit will be on display from July 11 to September 27.

The event is free and open to the public.

This summer, local artist Miguel Pujol presents Moments, a new collection of acrylic paintings celebrating the beauty found in everyday life. Through painterly scenes filled with warmth, light, and nostalgia, the exhibition captures the quiet connections, shared experiences, and fleeting moments that often become the most meaningful parts of our lives. From small-town gatherings to intimate family scenes, Moments invites viewers to slow down and recognize the humanity woven into ordinary days.

Born in Argentina, Miguel first came to the United States at the age of 23, intending only to visit. Captivated by the country and its creative possibilities, he chose to make it his home. He initially settled in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he studied Theology before embarking on a career in sales and marketing within the staffing industry, traveling extensively throughout California.

An artist for over fourteen years, Miguel has explored a wide range of creative forms and mediums. Over the past five years, he has devoted himself fully to acrylic painting, developing his style through self-study and hands-on experimentation. His work reflects a deep appreciation for the outdoors, atmosphere, craftsmanship, and story.
