I often challenge myself to paint better or paint faster. While these two skill sets seem to have different goals, I believe at some point they will join together. Why do I want them to join?
1. To be able to restart a painting to meet a deadline, when it counts.
2. To be able to quickly evaluate and tackle more complex subjects.
3. To be able to demonstrate quickly when my audience doesn’t have all day to watch my paint dry!😉
When I’m warming back up after taking time off, I will paint something more fun…free…something I’m not in my head about. This is a rather small canvas (5x7”), but my goal today was to give myself 2 hours to paint start to finish. This one took me a little over an hour and then I fussed with it 20 more minutes after signing it to push the value range.😁 (You know how that is!)
