Situated in the heart of our community and connected to the Silver Lake Walking Trail, the splash pad will be easily accessible by foot, bike, stroller, or wheelchair.

Imagine biking the trail on a warm summer day and stopping to cool off at the splash pad. Families can enjoy a walk around the lake, grab a bite downtown, and make the splash pad part of their adventure.

It's more than a splash pad—it's another way to connect our parks, trails, downtown, and community.

Splash pads are designed to be low maintenance and cost-efficient—often far less expensive to operate than traditional pools.

In fact, Minneapolis has converted aging pools into splash pads due to:

In the last post we discussed construction funds.. Now, let's talk maintenance.

This splash pad is designed to NOT rely on taxpayer dollars for ongoing maintenance.

Any funds raised beyond construction will be held in a fund at the Virginia Community Foundation and dedicated exclusively to future maintenance and repairs.

Like the Children’s Memorial Park and Olcott Fountain, it will be sustained through community support for years to come.
