Every community is different... and every splash pad should be too.

After seeing the excitement surrounding City of Ramsey's new Waterfront new splash pad, we've received a few questions about Virginia's project.

Our splash pad is intentionally being designed to be right-sized for our community.
Rather than building the largest splash pad possible, we're focused on creating a destination that fits Virginia's character and complements everything that already makes Silver Lake special.

Our current concept includes:
✔️ A 2,035-square-foot Water Play Area
✔️ A 3,167-square-foot dry deck for gathering and seating
✔️ Connections to the Silver Lake Walking Trail
✔️ Shaded seating areas
✔️ Landscaping and gathering spaces
✔️ Future opportunities for community events and activities

It's more than a splash pad. It's a place where families can gather, children can play, and our community can continue building memories for generations to come.

With forecasts calling for temperatures in the mid to upper 90s, it's hard not to think about how nice it would be to have a place to cool off right here in Virginia. 💧☀️

That's the vision behind the Virginia Splash Pad Project.

A safe, free, and accessible place where children can run through the water, families can gather, and everyone can find a little relief during Minnesota's hottest summer days.

📸 Then and Now: Why a Splash Pad Matters for Virginia

Take a look at this photo from years past.

For generations, Virginia's beach was a place where kids could laugh, play, and cool off on hot summer days. It was a gathering place for families and a source of countless summer memories.

While our beach remains safe today, the shoreline experience has changed over time. Increased vegetation and waterfowl activity have made it less inviting for the kind of family water recreation many remember.

That's where a splash pad comes in.
