đź“Ł Introducing Ava as Lois!

Ava Stevenson is super excited to be a part of her first Fringe Festival production! She holds a Bachelor's in Vocal Performance from Old Dominion University and some of her credits include Ride the Cyclone (Ocean O'Connell Rosenburg) with Little Theatre of Norfolk, Fiddler on the Roof (Mirala, Hodel U/S) with Virginia Stage Company, Cinderella (Ella) with Old Dominion University, and the chorus of Virginia Opera’s productions Madame Butterfly, Carmen and Aida. You may also have seen her singing around Hampton Roads with The Doorway Singers. She would like to thank her wonderful family and friends for their constant support.

FLAPPERS & PHILOSOPHERS is stage adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story collection by the same name.

✍️ F. Scott Fitzgerald was an American novelist & short story writer, renowned for his vivid portrayals of the Jazz Age in the 1920s.

📚He achieved early success with his debut novel, “This Side of Paradise” (1920), which captured the spirit of the Roaring Twenties. His most celebrated work, “The Great Gatsby” (1925), delves into themes of wealth, class, and the elusive American Dream.

đź“ťFitzgerald's writing is characterized by lyrical prose and a keen insight into the complexities of human nature. Despite facing personal and financial challenges during his lifetime, his works have since become classics of American literature, offering timeless reflections on ambition, love, and societal change.

Griff Melton is thrilled to be making his acting debut with Flappers and Philosophers. Although new to theatre, he is no stranger to performance and is heavily involved in the thriving Hampton Roads alternative music scene. đź“Ł Introducing Gabrielle as Marcia Meadow!

Gabrielle Bauman is an actor, director, and playwright -- currently attempting to do all three! 🤹‍♀️

Some of her favorite stage credits include performing in repertory with The Spirit of Maud Theatre Company (playing author Lucy Maud Montgomery) and The Heiress (Catherine) at Regent University, where she received her MFA.

Her recent directing credits include "Wedding Belles" (2025), Kate Hamill's "Sense and Sensibility" (2024), and "Emilie: La Marquise du Châtelet Defends Her Life Tonight" (2023).

Gabrielle is excited to bring to life Fitzgerald’s work with this talented cast and thanks the Z Fringe for their commitment to new work and emerging artists!
