**IT’S OFFICIAL**

The 2024 Hampton Roads Aqua Bash has been rescheduled to Friday, October 11th and Saturday, October 12th in Virginia Beach! We hope to see you there!

There are art and aquascape competitions voted on by your fellow attendees! The Top 2 of each competition will receive very special prizes!

Discount codes will be available from several vendors who can unfortunately not attend but would still like to support and they can only be found at the event and will only be available during those two days! You don’t want to miss it!

There is also a pre order for T-Shirts that will begin in the next few days as there will be limited quantity at the event!

I was able to reseal a 180g tank for a fellow Submariner last week and after water testing he was able to set it up to place his cichlids and fish back into it! Happy to have helped a hobbyist keep a tank and save some money!

!!Hampton Roads Aqua Bash 2024!!

This 2 day event will be the first of its kind for the 757 area so be sure to check it out!

Giveaways, competitions, swaps, sales, talks and so much more!

Competitions: there will be a Best Photo contest and aquascaping competitions to compete in. Registration details to follow!

[] Best Photo: photos must be submitted by 8pm on August 24th and the top 10 photos as chosen by an anonymous group of judges will be displayed for the public to vote for their favorite. Please submit all photos to [email protected] and place Aqua Bash Photo Contest in the subject line. The top 10 photos will be determined on Wednesday prior to the event and the persons notified as such. Public voting will be closed at 3pm on Sept. 1st for the votes to be tallied and the top 3 awards presented at 530-6pm following voting conclusion.

[] Aquascaping Contest: please use a 10g Aqueon Aquarium to create your design and send a photo to [email protected] with the subject line Aqua Bash Scapes. Submissions must be submitted no later than 8pm on August 24th and the top 10 will be voted on by an anonymous group of judges and notified as such. The top 10 Aquascapes will be invited to be displayed for public voting during the event with live voting closing at 3pm on Saturday the 1st for vote tallying and awards given during the ceremony from 530-6pm following voting conclusion.

Swaps: if you require tank or table space please contact [email protected] with Aqua Bash Swap/sale in the subject line for more information regarding the space available. In the email you must include the size of the tank, if any water must be provided, if chairs would be needed, if any power and how many outlets will be needed. Anything provided by the host may incur a small fee to help cover the power and water used for the vast increase in tanks and water usage for the day.

Vendors: Any vendors must email [email protected] for the vendor application to participate in the event.

We are also looking for sponsors for the event. Sponsors will have their logo on the back of the shirt that will be supplied to vendors and be for sale!

We got some new fish friends the other day and they are so happy and devouring the PeMysis and algae sheets the tank is fed every day!

This is simply one of the best mutualistic symbiotic relationships we can observe in our home aquariums! 🔥

Many people think of anemones as a type of plant: however, they are a carnivorous predator (like jellyfish) that use their tentacles to sting and stun prey to feed on. 😅

Clownfish are one of only a few species able to survive the sting of an anemone thanks to a special layer of mucus covering their body to protect them from the anemones toxins. 😱😱

Bothe of these work together so harmoniously as the clownfish can receive a safe place to live and in return they help to provide food for the anemone, help control harmful parasites and chase away the few fish that call anemones a snack! 🥰🥰🥰

Here’s an Update to the .products Biocube 32 I’ve been maintaining for a fellow hobbyist after he lost the time and let it get away from him. Today that is next to no aptasia thanks to RedSea AptasiaX and a peppermint shrimp 🦐. Added back an OG zoa now that it’s healed and healthy again after spending a few weeks in my frag tank as well as another Zoa to start another colony! Currently there are a handful of snails and hermits, a peppermint shrimp, and a pair of food stripe maroon clownfish! Tell me what you think should be added next as we continue to bring this aquarium back to life!

Been maintaining a small aquarium for a fellow hobbyist near me who had become overwhelmed by work and the tank had lost nearly all life except for the thriving Pulsing Xenia and Aptasia. The clownfish were eating well and were as healthy as they could be. New to the SW community the tank owner had been mixing Black Bucket RedSea Coral Pro with Alkaline water rather than RO and running an absolute overkill of a black box light on a 32 BioCube. Needless to say there was work to be done and quickly in order to help the tank become more desired by both himself and his clients. You’ll see why he and his clients are now all in love with his display! He now uses an AI Prime 16HD for better spectrum and control as well as blue box Fritz RPM salt mix!
