• The next DCJS Security Class in Lynchburg, VA (ZOOM option is available for people out of state) is on Saturday, August 22nd and Sunday, August 23rd, 2026 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm **BOTH DAYS ARE MANDATORY**
• There next DCJS Security Class in Virginia Beach, VA (ZOOM option is available for people out of state) is on Saturday, September 12th and Sunday, September 13th, 2026 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm **BOTH DAYS ARE MANDATORY**
• The LAST DCJS Security Class before the festival is in Lynchburg, VA (ZOOM option is available for people out of state) on Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th, 2026 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm **BOTH DAYS ARE MANDATORY**

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Beverly Wells Johnson🌟
More Than 30 Years of Dedication, Leadership & Service

When someone has spent more than three decades in the event staffing and security industry and more than 25 of those years helping shape Event Staffing Inc. there’s a lot of history worth celebrating.

Beverly Johnson’s journey began in 1992 as an usher at Norfolk Scope and Chrysler Hall. What started with welcoming guests and working events quickly grew into a career built on professionalism, dependability, leadership, and a genuine ability to work with people.

In 2001, Beverly joined Event Staffing Inc. as a Supervisor, and she has been an integral part of ESI ever since.

Along the way, Beverly continued building her professional expertise through the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), earning multiple licenses and certifications:

• Unarmed Security Officer — 2002
• Compliance Agent — 2005–present
• Training Instructor — 2015–present
• Training Director — 2015–present

Those credentials only tell part of her story.

Beverly has worked at numerous SevenVenues facilities throughout Hampton Roads, including Norfolk Scope, Chrysler Hall, Harrison Opera House, and the Attucks Theatre. Her experience also includes football games at the University of Virginia and Liberty University, as well as football games and graduations at Norfolk State University and Old Dominion University.

She has also helped staff and support some incredible festivals and special events over the years, including Something in the Water, Point Break, and Funk Fest in Virginia Beach; Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee; and Electric Forest in Michigan.

In 2019, Beverly’s longstanding connection to the Hampton Roads community was recognized when she was featured on WAVY-TV’s Hampton Roads Show in its “I Am Hampton Roads” segment.

From ushering at Norfolk venues in 1992 to supervising teams, training personnel, maintaining compliance, and helping oversee major events today, Beverly has experienced nearly every side of this industry.

But for us, the most important part of Beverly’s story is the role she has played at Event Staffing Inc. for more than 25 years.

Companies like ESI aren’t built simply by the number of events worked or years in business. They’re built by the people who continue to show up, pass along what they’ve learned, train the next generation of employees, uphold the standards of the company, and become familiar faces that clients and staff know they can depend on.

Beverly Johnson is one of those people.

Her knowledge, loyalty, leadership, and decades of experience have become part of the foundation of Event Staffing Inc., and we are incredibly grateful that so much of her remarkable career has been spent right here with ESI.

🏈 ESI’s Western Region was on the move! 🏈

Yesterday, some of our Western Region crew headed to Norfolk State University for game day! The Spartans had a blowout win against the Rams, beating them 56-0 🤯🙌 Well done guys!!!

We had an absolute blast getting to work alongside and assist our Virginia Beach family. There’s nothing better than bringing our teams together, supporting one another, and doing what we do best! 💪🔥

A huge thank you to everyone who welcomed us and made us feel right at home. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to do it all again!

A special thank you to Norfolk State University and Norfolk State Athletics for allowing ESI to assist you in helping to keep your students, family and community safe! We’re looking forward to the next game!

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Janet Crump Brown🌟

If you’ve worked with ESI, you KNOW Janet.

Janet Crump Brown has been one of the backbones of Event Staffing & Event Staging since joining us full-time in 2004, but her experience in the event and entertainment industry goes back decades.

Before ESI, Janet managed some of Virginia Beach’s most well-known oceanfront nightclubs throughout the ’80s, including Peabody’s, Rogues, and Beach Cabaret. She spent 10 years with Cellar Door and another 10 years managing The Abyss before bringing all of that experience to ESI.

For years, Janet helped keep the day-to-day operations of both companies moving, including one of the biggest jobs behind the scenes: staffing our events. That could mean scheduling four employees for one event and turning around to coordinate 300 staff members for a single busy weekend. If you’ve ever wondered who helped make all those moving pieces come together, there’s a very good chance Janet had a hand in it.

In recent years, Janet has stepped back from the daily grind a little, but she remains heavily involved with ESI and an incredibly important part of our team. These days, she also gets to spend more time enjoying her grandkids and running her wedding-planning business.

After more than two decades with ESI, Janet’s experience, dedication, and knowledge of this company are hard to put into words.

She isn’t just part of ESI’s history, she helped build it.

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on the man behind Event Staffing — Bobb Dymarcik!

Bobb is a proud Navy veteran and the owner of Event Staffing Inc & Event Staging Inc., bringing an incredible 38 years of experience in the event staffing industry. Over the years, he has built a company known for showing up, getting the job done, and providing dependable teams for festivals, concerts, sporting events, and large scale events throughout Virginia and beyond.

If you’ve worked with Bobb for any amount of time, chances are you’ve heard him say:

“Because of the guest, we exist.”

It’s more than just his catchphrase, it’s a philosophy that has helped guide the way he does business. At the end of the day, great event staffing is about creating a safe, welcoming & memorable experience for every guest who walks through the gate.

For Bobb, this business has also always been about the people behind the scenes. He takes pride in creating opportunities, building lasting relationships, and seeing familiar faces return year after year. Many of those relationships have grown into friendships and become part of the Event Staffing family.
