What an incredible night at the KCARC Annual Awards Banquet! A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s banquet such a success. From the fantastic dinner and door prizes to live music, dancing, and plenty of fun, it’s safe to say everyone had a ROCKIN’ good time!

There are so many exciting things happening across KCARC!
🗣️ Adult Day Program Advocacy Council
We are thrilled to announce the launch of an important new group within our Adult Day Program—the Advocacy Council!
The Advocacy Council gives people supported through Day Program services an opportunity to:
* Express their opinions and ideas
* Make choices
* Advocate for themselves and others
* Help shape and improve the Adult Day Program
*Every member’s voice matters! Our Advocacy Council is currently campaigning for office, and candidates will have an opportunity to speak and campaign Friday from 12–2 p.m. at the 1972 Community Center.
Good luck to all of our candidates! We are excited to see everyone get involved and make their voices heard!

So Much Happening at KCARC! 🎉

What an exciting time at KCARC! We have so much to celebrate and so many accomplishments to be proud of! 💙

🌟 **Summer Camp wrapped up an amazing season with a fantastic talent show! Our campers showed us just how much talent they have, and we couldn’t be prouder of the memories they made this summer.

🏭 **Community leaders toured Coonrod Production Center, giving us the opportunity to showcase the incredible work happening throughout KCARC.

🎓 **Congratulations to our 15 Manufacturing Development Program graduates! We celebrated their accomplishments with a special graduation ceremony and reception. Way to go, graduates!

🤝 **The United Way Kickoff was a hit! KCARC was proud to participate with a booth full of information about our programs, services, and the people we serve.

🗳️ **Our Adult Day Program launched its first Advocacy Council meeting! Members are currently campaigning and preparing for the election of their board members. We’re excited to see this new leadership opportunity grow!

💙 And, of course, we can’t forget our Mission Champion of the Month, Nurse Sandy Merry! Thank you, Sandy, for all you do and for being an important part of the KCARC family!

# 🧠📚 Brain Health Drive: Build a Basket of Fun!

KCARC Adult Day Programs, in partnership with Generations, are collecting fun and engaging items for the Build a Basket program! 💙

We’re hosting a **Brain Health Drive** to help keep minds active, engaged, and having fun. We’re looking for donations of:

🧩 Crossword & Sudoku books
📚 Books & magazines
🎨 Adult coloring books
📝 Notepads, pens & pencils
🃏 Playing cards
…and other fun activities that encourage creativity and brain health!

📍 Collection Sites:
• Baker Center
• The Shop
• Civitan Children’s Center
• 1972 and Coonrod Production Center Administration office

📅 **Last day to donate: August 31st**

Our Adult Day Programs will help assemble these special baskets in November, continuing their fantastic work and involvement throughout our community. Every donation can help bring a little fun, connection, and brain-boosting activity to someone’s day! 💙

Help us wrap up our summer cardio drumming season with an awesome '80s-themed workout!

🕠 5:30–6:30 PM

We'll be drumming to your favorite '80s hits, and everyone is encouraged to come dressed in their best '80s attire! From neon and leg warmers to big hair and denim jackets—have fun with it!
