With THE MOORS behind us, we turn to spring, or at least to SPRING AWAKENING. Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's Tony Award-winning musical brings Frank Wedekind's 1891 play into a rock score about young people pushing against a world that wants to control their desire, their curiosity, and their need to be understood. Valerie Joyce directs this co-production with Villanova Student Musical Theatre.

That's a wrap on "The Moors." Congratulations and thank you to everyone in this photo, the actors in costume and the crew still on headset, along with director Ed Sobel and our full creative team. You opened our 2026–27 season with a production that was strange, funny, and haunting all at once. And thank you to everyone who joined us on the moors these past two weeks.

Next up: Spring Awakening. 🎭

After a haunting opening weekend, The Moors returns for its final weekend at Villanova Theatre. In Jen Silverman’s darkly comic gothic tale, desire, loneliness and ambition simmer beneath the surface as four unforgettable characters search for something—love, freedom, purpose, or simply a way out.
