We stay a little longer, look into our own eyes, and a whole other world opens up. A world of our inner lives, a world of love and fear, hope and despair, emotions, and thoughts. It is this world that we create on stage, and now, it is you, the Audience, who will recognize yourself in our characters. You will see and understand yourself through the magical mirror of our theater. You will cry and l
augh with us, you will be uplifted and transported beyond the mundane, and all of a sudden you will find yourself wanting something that you could not even dream of before. Zerkalo, (which in Russian means mirror) - a children’s musical theater performing in English and Russian, opened its doors in the Fall of 2013 in the Washington DC Metro area. It is no accident that the first show that we offered to the public is the Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors. In this wonderful story the characters get a chance to see themselves through the eyes of others. They are exposed to their strengths and weaknesses; they see when they are being brave, and when they let the fear get a hold of them. They see when they are honest, and when they are lying, when they are selfish, and when they do things for the sake of others. Have you ever tried to look at yourself through the eyes of another person? If not, we hope that you will allow us to give you this chance.
