Orange County Judge John Gothia announced today that all non-emergency Orange County offices will close at 2 p.m. due to impending weather conditions.
The early closure is a precautionary measure intended to help protect county employees and members of the public while providing county personnel with additional time to travel safely as weather conditions develop.
“The safety of our employees and the public is our highest priority,” said Orange County Judge John Gothia. “We are taking this precautionary step to allow everyone the opportunity to get home safely before conditions potentially worsen. We encourage everyone to remain alert, monitor the weather, and follow the guidance of local emergency management officials.”
Employees and members of the public are encouraged to:
• Monitor local weather conditions and official updates.
• Avoid unnecessary travel as conditions deteriorate.
• Follow guidance and instructions from local emergency management officials.
• Allow additional time for travel and use caution while on the roads.
County officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and will provide additional information as necessary.

Missing American Girl Doll

Someone accidentally left an American Girl doll at the park today around 10:00 a.m. When they returned to get it, it was gone.

If you happened to pick it up for safekeeping, we kindly ask that you please return it to the park office so it can be reunited with its owner.

Thank you for your honesty and for helping us get this special doll back where it belongs. ❤️
The office hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00-2:00
Friday 8:00-1:00 If we are closed kindly turn it into the park rangers

Update! Issue Resolved! 🥳

The bathrooms are closed again due to another water leak. The water should be back on later this afternoon. I will update this post when the issue is resolved. Thank you for your patience.

Due to excessive rainfall and resulting unsafe conditions at the park, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has made the difficult decision to postpone the upcoming Cops and Kids event.

Recent heavy rains have left the grounds too saturated for the safe operation of large equipment, machinery, and generators that are essential to the event. Additionally, standing water throughout the park creates safety concerns for attendees, volunteers, and participating organizations.

The safety of our community is our top priority, and after carefully evaluating the conditions, postponement was determined to be the safest course of action.

At this time, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office is evaluating potential options for rescheduling the event. Additional information will be provided as those options are considered and a determination is made.

We appreciate the understanding and continued support of our sponsors, volunteers, participating agencies, vendors, and the community members who help make Cops and Kids possible each year.
