Every picture tells a story. Part 2. This is a painting of the magnolia trees in full bloom on Oxford Street near Park Avenue in Rochester that will hang at my featured artist show Street Artworks My first apartment was on Park Avenue near there, so I have a lot of affection for this neighborhood. I had taken many photos for this painting but couldn't get quite right. Then I found a vintage postcard with this wonderful vanishing point, so I was inspired to use a vintage color palette. It's a LARGE painting, which was also fun.

Every picture tells a story. This painting, which will be hanging at my featured artist show starting July 1st is inspired by a wonderful photo from local street photographer . I was first attracted to the colors of the bus and Enright's facade and then to the protest messages and images on the side of the bus. This photo was taken after one of the first "No Kings" protests in Rochester last year. It reminds me of the power of art to support political speech and raise awareness for the important issues of our time.

Wild time at Canal Days last weekend. Tent blew down Saturday afternoon. So I came back on Sunday with a table and a smile! The good news is that all of my "Nighthawks at Don's Original" prints and merch sold out. (Original painting still available.) I'll be re-stocking for my next outdoor show - Park Avenue Stroll on August 1st.

Getting ready for Fairport Canal Days with some new paintings and some old favorites. Re-stocked my Fairport bags and prints, so stop by early so you won't be disappointed! My booth is at the top of Liftbridge Lane, so you can't miss it. This Saturday and Sunday 6/6 and 6/7.

SOLD this weekend . So happy that my painting of the iconic Fairport Brewery and DeLand House went to a new owner who had her wedding at Deland.
