This place was so cool!! I’ve never been to anything like it. It used to be a ski jump and has been used in the Olympics back in its heyday. There is an elevator that takes you 18 stories up and then you can venture if you dare another 8 stories of steps to a spectacular 360° view! It was so windy the day we went we were not adventurous enough.

The coolest part is.. they have received a $20M grant to renovate the jump and turn it into a world-class year-round ski jumping destination!! How cool is that?! There is more about it on their website at copperpeak.net!!

Our first stop of our trip. This is the location where the Edmond Fitzgerald went down 49 years ago this year on my birthday, Nov. 10.

It was a beautiful beach with a birding trail. We walked out to the point and got to speak with a Audobon worker who was spotting birds.

It was very cold and windy as you can see from the whitecaps. Definitely a fun first stop!
