Just weeks after a personnel controversy led to the resignation of Gore Town Clerk Lisa Settlemyre and the eventual departure of Vice Mayor Larry Pack, Settlemyre returned to the public spotlight during the May 19 Gore Board of Trustees meeting, leveling a series of allegations against Mayor Robin Henry.

VCF makes donation to Vian TSA

The Vian Technology Student Association (TSA) would like to extend a huge thank you to the Vian Community Foundation (VCF) for its recent donation to Vian TSA. Cherokee Nation celebrates grand opening of Sallisaw Child Development Center

Cherokee Nation leaders and community members gathered Thursday morning to celebrate the grand opening of the new Sallisaw Child Development Center located on JT Stites Blvd. The new center features more than 10 classrooms, classroom pods, two large play areas, a kitchen and other amenities designed to support early childhood development. The $24 million project will serve more than 100 children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 years old.

Cherokee Nation celebrates grand opening of Sallisaw Child Development Center

Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr., Deputy Chief Bryan Warner, cabinet members, members of the Council of the Cherokee Nation and local residents attended the ceremony on Thursday, marking the opening of the more than 32,000-squarefoot facility. The completion of the facility also brought more than 50 jobs to the Sallisaw community. The Cherokee Nation currently operates child development centers in Tahlequah, Stilwell and Pryor, and is constructing another facility in Catoosa.
