I'm very excited! I have been stressing over his for months. I usually don't do very big pieces but I thought it was time. This is panel 1 of a triptych I am making for us. It is 12"x36" and I already scraped it once! The three pieces are not going to run together, just have the same colors and a similar flow. It is wet now but when it dries you should be able to see the cloud like background. As soon as it dries enough to move, part 2 will be done, then part three. This is going to be a long process because of my limited space, as I have to do one panel at a time. I am happy with my first "Little Bird"

It's been a hot summer and 2024 is winding down. Maybe it's the heat but my creative juices are not flowing right now, but I'm getting ready to do my largest project yet-a triptych for our house. Until I feel creative again I thought I'd take a trip down memory lane. Hope you enjoy some "Happiness" (By the Heavy Heavy)

Spent the day yesterday resining some pieces. They still need some finishing touches. Was it worth the sore back, stiff neck, and fatigue? Of course!

I have a couple posts this week. First, I love to paint and have been working in fluid art for a few years. That does not mean I have stopped learning! I just finished an online course from Crystal Coast Originals by Amanda. She does amazing swipes and this class taught the Sunflower swipe. I used the exact same paints she used in her video and of course mixed up more than I needed, After I finished her Sunflower swipe, I experimented with the leftover paints. I tried to do a whole sunflower and it looked pretty good until the next day. It shifted and I got an ugly, misshapen sunflower! My next experiment was a sun. It worked but not with the colors I used. I love this technique and plan to paint more using this technique. I will try another sun but in brilliant oranges and yellows. I love learning new things but I was reminded of the importance of basics too, like making sure the painting is level while it dries!

My brother would have been 62 today. He passed away suddenly soon after I finished the painting in the video. I heard a song by Eddie Vedder not long after George's death and it reminded me so much of him. It also tied in with my painting so I named it "George". Please enjoy my video tribute to George

We're visiting the family. I gave my daughter this tray last year, and she says she has had many compliments. I like the idea of functional art and would like to do more trays. What do you think?

This painting represents how we all are feeling right now! "Flambe" is its name and it is HOT! This will be my last post for a bit since it is time to visit the family. I am working on some things I am excited to share when I return. Enjoy the summer!

I started this page to show my artwork and possibly find good homes for them. Some of you may be interested in learning how this technique is done. You will find literally hundreds of YouTube videos which are great to watch but there are so many different approaches so it is sometimes overwhelming and difficult to learn. My advice is to pick no more than 3 artists to follow until you at least learn the basics. After that, make it your own. If you want to purchase EXCELLENT online courses, I highly recommend the Soby Art Academy courses. Over the past couple of years I have purchased all but one of them and they are amazing!
