It has been a long time since we last wrote and as many of you know we did not get the grant. there are people quietly working behind the scenes to do what they can to baby this project along still.
Today as someone who cares very much about downtown I am asking for your support in sharing the message about a meeting next Wednesday at 9:30 at city council concerning the Comp Plan. Most businesses downtown would like to see what is referred to as the Twin pairs Road Calming Project to move forward. Keeping it in the Comp Plan will show the FDOT that we care about this issue and go a long way in helping us attempt to speed this project up.
There is no where in the county that there is this wide of a road no less one that cuts through a historical district.
Vero Beach use to have lovely roads that went through the downtown area.
This is not about a road. This is about what kind of community do we want. DO we want a safer road? Do we want the ability to walk and bike important to us? Do we want our seniors to have an easier and more comfortable way of moving but also gives more access to talking and communicating with each other?
Please come out and show your support, wear white if you can come to the meeting or send a letter of support.
This IS important and now is the time to show how we want "Vero to be Vero!"

A SPECIAL Thank you to everyone who helped us in our video for A Thriving Community Grant through the Press Journal. So many to thank but especially the spirit of giving and talent that we had from Barry Shapiro and the kids from the IRC Charter School. This is about community, consensus building and innovation and highlighting all that is special about our community. Please watch for the final video after the incredible Michael Naffziger will spend hours editing for us and his kids! And then don't forget to vote ...daily! More to follow.
Remember, all are welcome to come help us grow this dream into reality. It will take everyone.

Good Morning! Its been a long time but pulling together this old theatre is taking longer than I sure would like. Let me assure you we are working behind the scenes and progressing. I would like to invite everyone who has ever cared about bringing this old girl back to life to come join us Tuesday afternoon at 4 in front of the theatre. We will be doing a 3 minute video to apply for a grant for a possible $100,000 or 50,000 with the newspaper. We would love everyone to join us. Then the cool part is you can help us vote daily in support of THE HUB. More to follow. See you at 4 on Tuesday!

HELLO ALL! We are moving along with the plans for THE HUB. We have an amazing group of individuals who share our passion for bringing this wonderful relic back to a shinning new time.

We have had a band of brilliant architect... Thank you Tom Hoos, who has done theatres in Paris and for Disney and just so happens to be part of our downtown community guiding us to creating the magic .

We have structural engineers like the amazing Mike Lew to guide us in the early stages and Pete Clements of Pinnacle Construction to help us firm up our numbers.

We are building our board and throughs the guidance of David Sullivan the past provost at the college is leading us in finishing a professional worthy business plan.

Tomorrow I will tell you more about our board. I think you will be as impressed as we are to have them share our passion and vision for giving back to the amazing community.
