A little shore lb.Skim Jam photo dump 🌊🎨🤙

There is something so special about watching kids get completely stoked over creating something of their own—head out into the water compete in a skim contest and then watching them jump into a collaborative mural between heats and realize their ideas get to become part of something even bigger.

Every mini surfboard carried its own personality, and every new set of hands added a different color, line and style to the mural. Somehow, all those wonderfully different creative choices blended together and brought something completely original to life. That is the magic of community art: everyone leaves their mark, but nobody creates the finished story alone.

Last year we painted full size surfboards and skimboards together along with the individual mini boards. This year we brought back the individual mini boards and added one giant shared canvas and tiny little ceramic creatures—and we’re already excited to see what we dream up when this incredible event celebrates its 20th year next year!

The annual Shore LB Skim Jam supports the Little Board Riders, making a beautiful day of skimboarding, creativity and community even more meaningful.

And when we’re not painting on the beach, you can find TC Creative Co. and Bogwater Collective creating together at The Secret Spot —our working creative co-op studio- or somewhere else secretly out in our community . 🗝️✨

First Friday Gallery Stroll at The Secret Spot ✨

Tonight was one of those nights that reminded us exactly why this space exists. We welcomed first-timers through the door, pulled out the paint, created something new, and spent the evening laughing with people who hadn’t planned on ending up at The Secret Spot—but somehow found their way here anyway.🐬🐋

Some had heard about us but didn’t really know what we were all about. Others we had crossed paths with before—including one who once stopped by our booth during a downtown Friday with Main Street Vero Beach and asked if Emily Snow had any blue artwork. Little did he know, we would cross paths again and that a special blue painting series was created inspired by him… and months later, these paths crossed again here at the spot. 💙

And just so everyone knows: we do more than kids’ programs around here. Sometimes the late nights are for the grown-ups—painting, creating, connecting, and hanging out with strangers who don’t feel like strangers for very long. They leave saying “I love you and God bless” as they walk out our 🚪

That’s the magic of The Secret Spot. You may not know exactly what you’re walking into, but you’ll usually leave with a story, a new friend, or a little more creativity than you came in with.

Thursdays are for our Little Homies! 🎨✨

Our homeschool studio sessions give young artists a welcoming space to explore new materials, build creative skills, express their own style and connect with other homeschoolers.

🖌️ Elementary | Ages 5–10 | 9:00–10:30 AM
🎨 Middle School | Ages 11–13 | 11:00 AM–12:30 PM
✨ High School | Ages 14–18 | 1:00–2:30 PM

Sessions are $40 and all art supplies are included.

Sometimes creativity doesn’t arrive as a masterpiece. Sometimes it arrives as PERMISSION.

After joining us for a painting class and experiencing The Secret Spot for the very first time, Charles Howse went home inspired to write his first-ever poem—and before even attending our poetry society he has shared this with us in his own voice.

“Permission” is more than a poem about a place. It’s a reminder of why this place exists: to help people discover the artist, photographer, writer, dreamer—or beautifully unexpected piece of themselves—they may not have met yet.
