Grounded Breath & Crystal Sound ✨

Join Amanda Peruzzi and Rebekah Rice for a 75-minute journey into breath, stillness, and sound. We’ll begin with gentle, grounding movement to prepare the body, then shift into accessible pranayama techniques that center the breath as a foundation for awareness and regulation. Practices will include structured breath awareness, whole-body breathing, ujjayi, and a simple yet potent 5.5-second inhale/exhale rhythm, eventually layering in mindful pauses.

Throughout the experience, Rebekah will play crystal sound bowls, offering soft, supportive tones that build gradually toward an integrating & restorative 30-minute sound savasana to close the class. This offering is open to all levels and especially supportive for those seeking a deeper connection to their breath, body, and inner calm.

I've lived many lives already. Many of us have. Here was one from when I was in my 20s. I am a former funeral director and embalmer. I spent about 15 years doing this work and also working in a private autopsy company.

People often ask me why I got into that work. When I was young, starting around the age of 3 or 4 I attended many funerals. My church bestie was the first death I experienced. I didn't understand why he was sleeping in front of us all but I rolled with it as you do when you're young and have no context.

What became clear to me was how everyone spoke to each other at funerals and around death. Suddenly everyone was kind, quiet, patient. Full of compassion and caring. When I asked what death was I was told it was a sleep you don't wake up from. That seemed peaceful to me and since it left all of us being more tender and vulnerable, I did not fear it. I didn't understand the permanent sadness that came with death because I was too young.

When I began working funerals is when I began to learn what mattered most to people about people. What made some one so memorable and cherished. What touched people and what they remembered as truly meaningful and beautiful about their loved ones. This has absolutely informed how I live my life and what I value in love and living.

Attending thousands of funerals over the years I can share what people talked about most at funerals. After the accomplishments and accolades were quickly graced over I would often hear the same beautiful gifts that meant so much to people. It didn't matter what their culture or heritage was. This was the San Francisco Bay Area and I was grateful to experience many cultures and traditions.

So what were the themes? What mattered most to people in the end?

Po Po always had time for me. Grandma always made the best chicken every time we came over. Mom and Dad took dance lessons when they turned 50 and never stopped. I could call Aunty any time day or night and she would listen. Brother taught me how to garden and to this day I grow his seeds. Bubbie and Zayde played music together every weekend.

In all my years and all the funerals I've attended I never heard (cont in comments)
