Who Is the Indian River Symphonic Association (IRSA)?

One question we often hear is: “Is the Indian River Symphonic Association part of Community Church?” The answer is no.

The Indian River Symphonic Association (IRSA) is an independent nonprofit organization, founded in 1993 to bring exceptional symphonic music to Indian River County for the cultural enrichment, education, and enjoyment of our community.

We are proud to call Community Church of Vero Beach our concert home. The church provides a beautiful, acoustically outstanding venue, but IRSA is a separate organization—with its own Board, staff, budget, donors, ticketing operation, and programming.

We hold a unique role as a presenter, bringing world-class orchestras and ensembles to perform in Vero Beach. IRSA has presented such acclaimed organizations as the Vienna Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic, and BBC Orchestra of London.

And education is central to our mission. Each year, IRSA provides a free concert for every fifth grader in Indian River County, along with scholarships and instruments for promising young musicians.

So, when you purchase an IRSA ticket, become a donor, sponsor a concert, or support our educational programs, you are supporting IRSA—a local nonprofit with more than 30 years of history and a commitment to bringing extraordinary music to our community.

We are proud of our partnership with Community Church and our place in Vero Beach’s vibrant arts community.

Independent. Local. Community-focused. Dedicated to the power of great music.
