The 2026 Palmer Byrd Cup Quarterfinals #2 was nothing short of a battle. The teams were well balanced. Both captains utilizing all their players strategically. To no surprise, the Captains pick came down to their #1 draft picks, Niemiec (Wicked Stix) and Skylar Hess. (Mindalorians). Both players put everything they had into the match for their teams. In the end with a 5-1 score Skylar moved her team on to the Semifinals to face the team from New York (Royal Precision)
From the 1st day, no lead was safe. Much like the Spurs vs Knicks. One team would jump ahead and the next, the other would tie it up. Pushing to an epic Quarterfinals. Lindsey Gyulai was voted by the other team as The Racks Quarterfinals #2 MVP! Mindy Maialetti, Captain of the Mindalorians, was engaged and ready to do her part, winning her singles match and supporting her team. Kristina LaPlante , Laura Wolf , Ashima Butler played with heart and grit to contribute points that helped keep this match close for the win.
Captain of Wicked Stix Carol Vischansky Clark is a Classy person. With her support, playing, and her captaining. Playing such good strategy to keep her team in the mix. Using her alternate, Morgan Rullo, in key match ups. Morgan would win her singles match with defense and shooting skills. Stearns & Madrigale were a strong doubles team. For her 2nd Plamer Byrd Cup appearance Melissa Jenkins was showing why she was picked with her keen eye and playing skills.
Both teams were impressive to watch.
With the 1st Quarterfinals going the distance we Congratulate The Mindalorians on their win. 2 more to go for the Finals, the Crown, and the Banner.
