We were honored to be invited to the David J Sencer CDC Museum's Trusted Messengers exhibit reception in Atlanta, GA. The Barn Quilt Project: South Dakota Strong is currently on display, along with amazing community arts projects from across the nation! Check out some of the highlights here.

The Barn Quilt Project is escaping Midwestern winter and visiting Atlanta, GA for the Trusted Messengers exhibit at the CDC Museum! More photos to come! We are honored that The Barn Quilt Project: South Dakota Strong is featured on display at the David J. Sencer CDC Museum in their "Trusted Messengers" exhibition, which demonstrates the power of the arts in public health outreach during COVID-19.

“Our talented partner organizations have created meaningful, innovative projects that engaged and informed community members,” said Catherine Zilber, MSc, vice president for infectious disease programs at the CDC Foundation. “This new exhibition features impressive art and uplifting messaging that demonstrates the crucial role the arts can play in communicating about important public health issues.”

At the exhibit in Atlanta, our work is featured along other public health projects, including work from Studio Two Three in Richmond, VA; Saint Louis Story Stitchers Artists Collective in St. Louis, MO; West Michigan Center for Arts + Technology in Grand Rapids, MI; Community Music School of Springfield and the Springfield Cultural Partnership in Springfield, MA; and the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL.

This project was a collaboration between Vermillion Cultural Association and Creative Care, LLC. To cap off our project, our team presented Creative Care, LLC director and project lead, Ari Albright, with this wooden barn quilt based on our logo.
