I have a new job that came with lots of jewel tone colored tshirts. Not my favorite at all. I’ve transformed most of them with products. But these I managed to do in one dye pot. These were the colors of the polyester thread you see on the folded up hems. OG shirt colors from left to right navy, light turquoise, dark turquoise, and neon green. I used color remover to pull the dye out of all of them. Then I started with the color on the left and added the colors as follows: ( oh and I used colors I had on hand so some are powder, and some are liquid). Pot 1 Butterscotch. - 2 gallons water
Liquid dye
1/2 cup lemon yellow
2 tsp sunshine orange
Powder
1/2 tsp taupe
Pot 2 olive green - add:
Liquid
Add 2 tbsp dark green
Pot 3 - add
Powder
2 tsps cocoa brown
Pot 4 rose add 1 gallon water then add:
Liquid
1/2 cup cherry red

This lovely photo is of all of the Turning Pointe Ballet Studio students who competed in YAGP this year. It is all costumes that I have made over the last 9 years for them. Thank you Meredith Hunnibell for this wonderful photo!

Come see these beautiful dancers--and so many more!--perform with Turning Pointe Dance Studio at Bourne High School on Saturday (2pm and 6pm) and Sunday (2pm). All of the costumes in this photo were designed by Nancy Ford Gallagher of SewBallet.com in California. Since she won't be here to see the show, perhaps she will enjoy the photo.

It’s been an interesting week. This is the view from my home on Monday night right before we evacuated. On Tuesday morning we went back in for some things. The sunlight in my sewing space glowed orange on the floor. The Thomas Fire is massive. The fire has passed after taking out more than 400 homes in my community. Our little foothill neighborhood is intact, but singed. So grateful for our home, so completely devastated for our many friends who lost their homes. 💚
