Keyboardist and/or guitarist wanted. If you're curious about comedy that's made up on the spot, we'd love to meet you. Experience accompanying short-form improv is a plus, but it's not required.
Ventura Improv Company, est. 1989, is a 100% volunteer-run organization. This is an unpaid opportunity.
Our musician is a creative partner on stage. You'll underscore scenes, accompany improvised songs, and help create worlds that can change in an instant-from a western to a mystery, from rock to jazz. The best moments happen when the actors inspire the music and the music inspires them right back.
Workouts: We'll schedule musician-improviser workouts around your availability to see if we're a good fit. Our hope is to find a regular musical improviser for our monthly shows.
Performances: Second Friday of every month at Namba Arts in downtown Ventura.
