I’m sad to announce that our dear Freakshow Family member, Dave “The Miracle Man” Markham, has passed away unexpectedly. We just heard yesterday and have been in disbelief ever since.
Dave was a genuine, authentic, caring, and compassionate friend who was always there when needed and always ready with great advice to help the Freakshow. He was such a quirky character and fun entertainer with a gift of goofiness that always made everyone he met laugh and smile. His incredible list of talents included Circus Sideshow Acts like Sword Swallowing, Fire Eating and Fire Breathing, Strong Man Acts, Knife Throwing, Magic, Mentalism, and Ventriloquism. He was a Master of the Divination Arts such as Palmistry, Tarot Card Reading, and Numerology. He also loved to sing old time songs with his low voice while he played his ukulele.🎪
My favorite memories with Dave happened every year on World Sword Swallower’s Day at the Freakshow. He would show up early filled with glowing enthusiasm like a kid visiting Disneyland for the first time! When we did the countdown from 3..2..1, I would always say, “Down the hatch, without a scratch!” and he would swallow his sword and throw open his arms and the crowds would roar! You could see in his eyes and smile the fulfillment that he got from their excitement and approval. He lived for moments like those! ❤️
My last time seeing him was just last month and before we left I hugged him with all my might and told him I loved him. Now that he has traveled Beyond the Veil, I know he is surrounded by Infinite Love and Peace including all the Love we are sending his way!✨Onward and Upward Dave! Keep the Light on! We will see you down the road!🎪❤️🎪
