Graduates completed an immersive program that prepares them for internships, apprenticeships, jobs, and advanced learning. 🙌 More Exciting News!

Venice Arts is honored to be named a finalist for the Shorty Awards, an international competition that celebrates purpose-driven work making a positive impact in the world! This recognition follows our recent Anthem Award honor for the same project - a powerful PSA for Challenged Athletes Foundation created in collaboration with NBCUniversals Creative Impact Lab.

We’re proud to spotlight Venice Arts’ alumni participating in this project: Malcolm Bray, Semira Paul, and J.J. Tolibao. These talented individuals completed our Digital Storytelling Pre-Apprenticeship program and served on the PSA as apprentices, showcasing their skills and passion for meaningful storytelling.
The PSA tells the inspiring story of Derek Loccident, who earned two silver medals at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. It aired both over broadcast and on streaming platforms, gaining over 98M+ media impressions.

📅 November 25 at 4 PM PST

Join emerging artists from Venice Arts as they share their creative journeys, showcase their work, and discuss the challenges and aspirations they face in the creative industry. This roundtable discussion and Q&A is your chance to explore unique perspectives on breaking into the field.

Featured Artists:
Jalen Carter – A production assistant at NBCUniversal with experience in multi-cam sitcoms and post-production. Emphasizes the importance of building relationships in the industry.
Joseph Godslaw – A film studies graduate from Wesleyan University, focusing on storytelling that crosses cultural boundaries. Aspires to become a creative director or television executive.
Angelica Quiñonez – A director with a passion for personal and humorous storytelling, currently in post-production for her film Jamaica. Former apprentice in NBCUniversal’s Creative Impact Lab.
J.J. Tolibao – A filmmaker and editor who has directed festival-screened shorts. Works as a teaching assistant at Venice Arts, guiding young filmmakers.
Semira Paul – An artist and professional wrestler, transitioning from photography to film with dreams of becoming a cinematographer. Alumna of Venice Arts’ Digital Storytelling Fellowship.

In partnership with the NBCUniversal 's Creative Impact Lab, the spot features CAF Paralympian Derek Loccident and his inspiring journey preparing for this year’s Paralympic Games.
