We’re having a party tomorrow at the gallery!

The boys from Loveland stopped by this morning with some party supplies and a lot of love!

Tomorrow is the official welcoming party for Loveland and their presence in the gallery. Everything will kick off at 4:00 until…

You can expect live music, hors d’oeuvres, lots of art, plenty of fun, laughter, and enough love for everyone!

If you’re having issues in your life, or if you’re struggling, I have found the best way to break that cycle, to get out of your head, is to serve others!

If you’re on the island and in the area, stop in and get some loving energy!

Back at it again with some more artists from the gallery! If you know this next artist, there’s a good chance you know her as Miss Vickie!

A full-time, self-taught artist, Vickie Hollis, now living in Florida with her husband and two dogs, grew up in the midwest.

“I have learned to love watercolor since my days in high school.”

Painting seriously since 2010, Vickie has shown at many art shows to include Venice’s Fine Art Festival that happens every November.

“Painting is my passion and my love.”

It took us some time to get Vickie into the gallery! We were fans the first time we saw her work.

There are times artists aren’t ready to be in a gallery and there are times galleries don’t have space for artists. Success is when preparation meets opportunity and it finally worked out for us both!

Vickie uses 140 lb Arches paper and does each outline with a .20 - .25 waterproof Higgins Indian ink and uses Daniel Smith watercolors, which exceeds the highest industry standards for lightfastness and permanence.

Each painting is sealed with Jacquard Dorland cold wax, and once dry, they are buffed, matted and framed.

If you have never seen Miss Vickie’s paintings, do yourself a favor the next time you’re on the island and in the area… stop in for a look-see!

Linda Tilson is from the big sky and wide-open spaces of the wild ranch country of West Texas!

A graduate of Texas Tech in Textiles, she has had a varied career that includes being a clothing designer, an entrepreneur, an inventor with 2 patents, and a clothing manufacturer.

From the plains of cowboy country Linda is now living on the gulf coast of Florida, with the vastness of water, spectacular beaches and sunsets!

Linda has always had an adventuresome spirit!

“I have always had a close connection and love of the beauty of the natural world.”

Linda has also been a boutique owner, is a textile designer, a silk painter, teacher, and artist.

We absolutely love representing artists!

With Linda, we feel like we have more than one artist to represent!

We “only” have her paintings at the gallery, but you should really check out her clothing and silk line of art! It is superb!

The next time you’re on the island and in the area stop in for a look! We have over 200 pieces of artwork!

I can’t help but think a little pop in color goes a long way when I see these! And, the uber talented Karren Garces paintings definitely pop!

“My style is like a “party” inspired by the energy, vibrancy and colors of Miami, where I was born and raised.”

Karren brings spaces to life from the inspiration around her by defining light and shadow through areas of high contrast, marked with bold, expressive brushstrokes.

With an arresting palette of rich, saturated colors, Karren paints everything from still life to animals, coastal themes to farm house themes, from abstract to realism and everything in between.

“I love designing interior spaces with color and personality. My clients appreciate the collaborative process and outcomes to creating lively spaces.”

Karren is widely known as a National pop-art pet artist, a feat achieved through her hard work and dedication to her craft.

If you’re considering a gift outside the box this year, well, here you go!

The next time you’re on the island and in the area, come have a look at Karren’s collection! It’s sure to put a smile on your face!

The author of “The Shake ‘n Bake Sergeant,” Jerry Horton, stopped in our gallery a couple of months ago. Having over 10,000 book sales, I believe, is a testament of who Jerry is and how people receive him.

We were thrilled to have him bring in his oil paintings for us to see! Do you have a favorite?

As you can probably tell, Jerry’s love is painting western art and portraits. He trained at the Miano Academy of Art under Charles Miano. Jerry has extensive training in the old master techniques from Miano Academy.

Jerry retired from a career of engineering and business brokering in 2017.

He ran and operated three engineering and software companies since 1984, as well as consulting for corporate acquisitions and sales for 15 years.

Jerry holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from University of Tennessee.

Jerry is a decorated Vietnam Veteran having served as an Infantry Sergeant in Vietnam.

The next time you’re on the island and in the area stop in for a look!

Give the gift of art this year! The gift that keeps on giving!

Two years ago when we first opened the gallery we didn’t have any work like this. My brain always went to realism and work like this wasn’t even a thought.

About 6 months in something felt off and I couldn’t put my finger on it.

When we get quite within ourselves and listen things tend to be revealed. It’s up to us whether we listen or not.

Around that same time Mara and her son came into the gallery. She was just learning English and Andri was her translator.

In all of my life I never experienced anything like that. It was one of the most beautiful conversations I’ve ever had! It took me to depths I had never felt, expanding my inner self of what just being looked and felt like!

I knew we had more in common than not. The care needed for our communication was pure, kind, and beautiful! Mara was getting so frustrated. I just looked at her and smiled, “It’s ok…take your time.”

Art is more than someone just creating something. It’s communication. It’s getting outside of ourselves to touch others, to meet them where they are, with not even knowing them.

Artists are moved so deeply when we create! I liken it to unzipping my body so you can see my soul! We feel a very intimate vulnerability, but we press on because that’s who we are.

Mara was our first Cubism artist and she’s been here ever since. Just this morning I noticed things in her paintings I’ve never seen before!

Art is a gift that keeps on giving!

He has quite the collection here and many more in stock!

A good friend of mine just contacted me about some "Best of Venice" voting that was happening for the local businesses. He said, "I tried to vote for you, but your gallery wasn't there? I think that's odd?"

Well, he's right. Number 33 Gallery and Adam Hutchinson Photographer are not listed for the "Best of Venice."

I went it and added them both, but am not certain if it worked?

Here's the link if you'd like to write me in for the gallery and my photography work. I quit chasing these things nearly 5 years ago.

We never play “favorites” at the gallery. I’ve always been the guy that roots for the underdog, sticks up for the people who are getting bullied, and will be the first person to stand up when there is injustice happening.

Scripture talks about this, to include caring for the elderly, widows, the poor in spirit, etc.

We all have a voice. Some shy away because they don’t want to get involved. Others represent truth.

I didn’t really realize the voices of art until I got into this business nearly 10 years ago.

I have learned you either connect with art or you don’t! When you make that connection it will stop you in your tracks! It becomes a part of you!

When Diego came into the gallery to show us his work for consideration to be a part of the gallery, I was speechless!Immediately, I had goosebumps over my entire body!

I’m not sure what it was about his paintings that talked to me, but they got me good! They got me so good I actually bought 2 of his paintings!

Maybe Diego’s paintings will get you, too?!

The next time you’re on the island and in the area stop in for a coffee, or tea, and a look… and maybe a feel!

That is the point of art, right? It’s therapeutic for the artist and makes the viewer feel something?

We met Sylvia about a year ago and were instant fans of her work! Unfortunately, at that time we didn’t have any space for her.

Her precision, depth of field, understanding of light and shadows, and her technique absolutely brings her work to life!

Her being an award winning pastel artist is apparent every time I walk by her display. I know they aren’t photographs, but you really can’t tell!

To say her work is superb would be an understatement! Don’t take my word for it though. The next time you’re on the island and in the area stop in for a coffee (or tea) and have a look!

Lenny and his daughter were up from Naples walking West Venice Avenue recently.

Artist have a certain vibe about them. After nine years of doing this most times I sense it immediately!

Well, I was right!

Check out these larger than life pieces! The big smile came when I found out he uses all recycled material!

Nicely done, Lenny! Nicely done!

If you haven’t been in the gallery for a couple of weeks we have a lot of new art.

One of the best things we did here is doing 3 month agreements with the artists and we let them swap out new work anytime! This keeps the energy fresh and new!

The next time you’re on the island and in the area stop in for a look and a coffee!

I do hope this finds you all well!

“All things coastal” describes Katherine’s paintings best! Her colors are bright and her paintings are fun!

There’s something about her choice of frames and the subjects she paints that just go together like a grilled cheese and tomato soup!

Katherine is a realist with an impressionistic view. She feels that more suggestion and less detail works best for her while also providing her viewer a fresh perspective.

We think she nails it! Don’t take my word for it though. The next time you’re on the island and in the area stop in for a look and a coffee! Number 33 Gallery; the only art gallery on West Venice Avenue!
