Meet Meg Thompson - The Education Director for VRT Youthstage. Meg brings her passion for affordable and accessible youth theatre programming to Vashon Rep. She has over 20 years' experience as an actor, director, teaching artist, costumer, makeup designer, and youth mentor in the Seattle area. She has worked on stage and behind the scenes of dozens of local theatre and film productions, including with Vashon Repertory Theatre, VHS Drama, DramaDock, Bellevue Youth Theatre, Seattle Children’s Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Stone Soup Theatre, Studio East, Young Shakespeare Workshop, Catawampus Productions, and Chaldea, LLC. She'll make her Vashon acting debut in the inaugural production for Ghost Boat Theatre, "One Thing After Another," at Open Space June 26th-28th. She'll also direct the VRT Summer Teen Musical production of "Cabaret" at Open Space August 6th-16th.

Registration is OPEN for VRT's Youth Stage Summer Camps. https://www.vashonrepertorytheatre.org/education. Each week, young artists will work on a new show, develop their teamwork, communication and creative skills. Each weekly camp ends with a final show day, where friends and family are invited to enjoy the creative magic of the next generation of performers! Shows include: Musical Theatre Workshop, Wizard of Oz, Greek Myths, Alice in Wonderland, Once Upon A Time, Peter Pan, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and a second Musical Theatre Workshop.

MEET MATTY SYTHENDONE, VRTs Social Media Manager. Matty(he/him) is an events producer, artist and arts administrator born and raised in Seattle! He has done it all from Front of House to Stage Management! Matty is proud to have worked at Seattle Rep and Seattle Children’s Theatre. His favorite memory is speaking on accessibility and customer service at the 2024 LEAD Conference organized by the Kennedy Center and held in Seattle. Now he serves as Lead House Manager at Meany Center of the Arts. After years working non-profits, he built his own events collective. Thumper Blu and Sofia Presents is a q***r artist collective dedicated to providing events for a cause in a safe space. You can catch those shows at Life on Mars and Saint John’s Bar and Eatery in Seattle.
Matty came to VRT as an actor, and he is eagerly sharing his creativity now in a new way Social Media Manager.
