Licensed DJ for weddings, parties, corporate events and dances in the Portland metro area, including SW Washington. We love to take requests from the guests.
Providing full-service entertainment with modern equipment and clean lyrics. Like other DJs we have thousands of songs available. Where we try to be different is we are very conscientious about playing the right music for the occasion. For example at weddings we don't play songs about breaking up or cheating spouses, at Sweet 16s we play current music that the kids will recognize AND we make sure
we play radio edit versions that don't have profanity. Corporate events, private parties, school dances and class reunions, charitable events, golden anniversaries, etc... each has it's own unique needs and not some cookie cutter approach to the music. Regardless of the event we try to play radio edit (non-profanity) versions of newer songs when we can. These versions are not available to the general public and help me raise the level of enjoyment for everyone without fear of offense to guests. However we primarily play the genres of music YOU have requested. It is your event after all! We make sure our music library is up to date with the latest releases and we have decades of classics to draw from. If you want a mix of 80s pop with some country mixed in? No problem. If you have a crowd that spans the ages and want songs reflecting that (The Beatles to Billy Idol to Black Eyed Peas)? If you want classic lounge (Ella Fitzgerald to Frank Sinatra to Bobby Darrin)? Disco? Swing? Rock? Classic R&B? Country? Classical? New Wave? Hip Hop? Jazz? Oldies? All our gear is in great working order and we recently upgraded our speakers, subs, microphones, mixer and lights. If you want dance lighting (not up-lighting) we will have a minimum of 5 different lights (not just one like many other Djs offer) that offer a variety of cool and exciting effects for a $150 up charge. The lights add pop and pizzazz to any event, taking the fun to a whole new level. Included with our lights is also a fog machine, however we will need to check with the venue of the event to see if it would be allowed or not. If you want the use of a wireless hand held microphone or a lapel-type clip on microphone we will gladly provide one at no additional charge. Our style is simple and fun. We don't 'scratch' or alter the music when I play it. We are also the in-house DJ for a local wedding reception center (The Hostess House). You are more than welcome to call them as a reference. 360-574-3284 Ask for Ron. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you and help take your party to the next level. Feel free to call me with any questions. 360-991-6665. David & Candy Child

I am very excited to announce that I have earned the 'Top Pro' distinction on Thumbtack.com. Thumbtack is a nationwide service connecting clients with vendors nation wide. Less than 3% of all professionals on Thumbtack earn this recognition.
It's nice getting recognition for work done well.
If you or someone you know is looking for a DJ for a wedding, party, or school dance, have them give me a call!
Last night was awesome! I got to DJ the Marine Corps Ball and was able to see my favorite Marine in her dress blues, my daughter, L.Cpl. Sydney Child.
Last night was fun! I got to DJ a party at Cascade Moto, the local Triumph motorcycle dealership. They were unveiling the new Bonneville Bobber that will be available in 2017. it's a beautiful bike. These people know how to throw a party!
If you have a corporate event and need some music to add to the ambiance or if you want an all out dance for your employees and clients, give me a call.
On Saturday I was involved with the wedding and reception for Tim and Shiela Holschbach at the Embassy Hotel in Portland. Shiela has a Hawaiian background so we all got fresh flower leis and some great food. It was a wonderful night with a lot of fun. As a bonus, they had world famous Voodoo Doughnuts as the centerpieces and were served as the desert course.
On Saturday I had a chance to DJ a wonderful wedding reception for a lovely young couple. During the reception I played the 'Life Long Love' dance where all married couples start dancing and as the song progresses, I dismiss couples based on how long they have been married. By the end of the song, the couple that has been married the longest is the last on the dance floor. However, this time I was amazed when there were FOUR couples left on the dance floor that had been married at least 55 years! It was wonderful to see.
It has been a very busy summer for me and I've been having a blast! Last week I met Elvis at a classic car show fundraiser that I provided music for, I went all the way to Silverton's Oregon Garden to provide the music for Mr. & Mrs. Lin's wedding and reception, and helped the Portland Rosarians as they celebrated another year and a change in leadership. Whew. Can I say I love my job?
I finished the day with a wedding and reception in North Plains, Oregon for Zane and Danielle Meeuwsen at the Loch Lolly Christmas Forest. What a neat venue! It was beautiful and quaint and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Look at the beautiful backdrop of where they were married.
It was a very long but wonderful day.
What a busy day yesterday! I started by providing music to a community day of fun put on by the wonderful people at the Faithful Savior Lutheran Church in NE Portland. They and several other groups working with them provided entertainment (music from me, train rides, pony rides, balloon sculptures, face painting, and more), food, free school supplies for the kids, health resources, books, and more... all for free thanks to some generous contributions. These people are doing a wonderful work. It was refreshing seeing the Lord's work done in a fun and meaningful way.
Tonight I was the hero of the hour. We were getting ready to toast the bride and groom with sparkling cider when we realized nobody had a bottle opener. Then I remembered I had recently put a Leather tool (which includes a can opener amongst other cool things) in with my gear and, sure enough, we were able to open all the bottles and do the toasts. Thanks Leatherman for making such a good product
Being prior service Marine Corps and with a daughter in the Marines as well I have a soft spot for military weddings. Congratulations Kyle and Krista.
This is my view from behind my gear as I play the processional music for another wedding.
It was a beautiful day at the Forest Heights Homeowner's Association 4th of July community celebration. There were games for the kids, mobile food trucks, kettle corn, and I was able to provide great tunes playing in the background for all to enjoy. A great time was had by all.
An added bonus for me... I was able to have my youngest daughter, Sydney, join me. She is a Marine as well. Thank you for your help today and for your service to our country. I love you.
Aloha! It was a great time last night DJing a Hawaiian themed reception for a wonderful couple. Dean and Carrie Scheper. It was held at a beautiful private residence in in the hills of Tualatin. I wish you guys the best of luck and a long happy life together.
This evening I had the greatest privilege of my career as a professional DJ. I was the DJ for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Mom & Dad, you guys are the most wonderful parents a person could hope for. I love you very much.
I felt like I was in OZ when I was surrounded by hundreds of kids today as I played music and made announcements for the Duniway Elementary PTA's Fund Run fundraiser. Those kids ran and ran, each lap raising money for their school. During lunch I had a large crowd of kids requesting this song and that including the chicken dance (see video). I had a great time with these kids.
On Friday night I was DJing a dance at the Beaverton Stake Center when we were treated to a dance demonstration by some very talented teenagers known as 'In Motion'. These kids were fantastic.
Happy 40th birthday to Matt Brunsch. Your wife, Sharon, did a great job planning the suprise party. Thanks for letting me provide the music and dance lights.
I just got an awesome new DJ light called the Gigbar by Chauvet. It is 4 different types of light in one and will add a lot of fun to smaller venues.

Sorry about the poor quality or video and the sound is not matching up. I am DJ, not a videographer! I just hope this gives you some idea of what several of my dance lights do.
Another busy weekend. Friday I had the LDS Vancouver Stake Sweetheart's Ball and Saturday I had the LDS Vancouver Stake youth dance where we had just shy of 400 kids attend! I'm exhausted but it was a lot of fun.
Just got in from DJing a fantastic wedding and reception for Lex and Jen at the McMinnville Grand Ball Room. They are a fun couple. Here is a selfie with the bride and groom.
Last Friday I DJd the Lowrie Primary School Winter Snowball Dance in Wilsonville. Those kids know how to have a good time! Lowrie Primary School
Happy 70th birthday to Patricia Cornman-Wilcox. You danced like a woman half your age! It was a privilege being the DJ at your party. Colleen Cornman-Wilcox
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Nation who were married on New Years Eve. Thanks for letting me be a part of your wonderful evening.
A great time was had by all at the Zimmer Biometric corporate party at Cooper's Hall in Portland. Let's do it again next year!
Last weekend I have the amazing opportunity to DJ the Marine Corps Ball celebrating the 240th birthday or the Marine Corps. The men and women serving our country in uniform all deserve our gratitude. And I must say that Marines look pretty awesome when all decked out in their dress blues!
