Major Update/Call for Help!
Official Post from KyteKut Creations
We hope you had a wonderful Halloween! Our family went all out for our Lord of the Rings family theme. Now we're trying to figure out if there is a KyteKut to do with these costumes...what do you think? 🎃👻🍂
What did you dress up as? Let us know!
Our first ever KyteKut Cabaret is coming alive October 30th, 2021, at 4 PM PST:
"What Lies Beneath"
Featuring the talents of:
Caitlin Gill, Yael Niccum, Katherine Kyte, and Bruce Kyte in five Halloween themed performances!
Our KyteKuts are always edited together perfectly, color corrected to set the mood, sound is equalized for the best experience, and thus our well rounded performance pieces are encapsulated in a few minutes.
But what lies beneath? What is happening behind the scenes?
Our first ever Halloween KyteKut Cabaret "What Lies Beneath" gives a glimpse into the creative process that Bruce and I (and the people we collaborate with) go through! Through a dramatized lens, we will lift the mask of our perfectly polished performances in our pseudo biographical mockumentary and reveal a few secrets of what happens behind the scenes of how we work these videos out whilst navigating our lives at home. It is full of spirit and just enough family friendly spooky vibes to enjoy at home!
We look forward to sharing the magic of how each video comes aliiiiiiiiiiive in our festive spooktacular!
Featured Songs: Little Shop of Horrors! Sally's Song from The Nightmare Before Christmas (Sung by Fiona Apple)Crazier Than You from The Addams Family music...

It's been a hot minute, but my husband and I have been busy over on YouTube with our channel, KyteKut! He has been recording amazing covers of songs, and I have been dancing to them while he films me, and we have been creating these beautiful projects!
We have a wide variety from sassy jazz to lovely lyrical, sometimes I pop in and sing, sometimes Bruce is involved in the video with me. Sometimes our kiddos plays around with us in the video! But it is always a good time, and we hope you will enjoy our newest video, and the other projects we have created on our channel. 💖
Love what we do? We appreciate our supporters on Patreon since we're not monetized on YouTube! Our videos are always free, but there are other perks and benefits for our members, such as exclusive BTS and WIP check ins!

Here at On Your Toes, we believe that Black Lives Matter.
We believe that we should stand with our Black friends and family, and raise our voices in support. Not just now, and not just today, but always until the racial inequalities are gone for good.
White supremacy must end and injustice must be fought against.
Even though we are a small studio, we will be making a donation to a foundation that supports the Black Lives Matter movement. We have looked into several, and have taken notice of some that other allies and BIPOC have shared, and as always, to those who have recommendations and have the space to make suggestions, we welcome those as well.
We may not understand, but we stand with you.
Black lives are not just a hashtag, so rest assured we will continue to support our Black communities, businesses, foundations, and continue to educate ourselves to be better allies not just today, but always. That is our promise.
Hello my amazing followers!
We are asking for your help for the lodge I am a member of that makes teaching dance possible when times are normal!
Last year, Peninsula Odd Fellows gave $18,699.36 in direct charitable assistance to our North Portland community. Due to our current circumstances, we were not able to hold our annual fundraiser in April (during which our melodramatic performance would've happened and we are still very sad we haven't been able to perform yet!)
As a result, our lodge is in the horrible position of having to suspend charitable giving right when our neighbors need us most.
If you have the means, please click the donate button on our “Service” page and help us help our North Portland neighbors. http://www.keepportlandodd.com/Service.html
Thank you so much in advance!
Today I am sharing our first "socially distanced" collaboration with another vocalist!
Bruce Kyte and Jenna Preston joined forces to sing "All I Ask of You" from the safety of their own recording areas in their own homes miles away from one another, and then Jenna's husband Zachariah Preston mixed and edited the amazing sound of them singing, and then I danced in a muddy forest in a completely improvised dance while wearing a robe, which then was edited all together in video by Bruce. This project took four days to create, and we are all very happy about our collaboration!
Be sure to let us know what you think and if you look forward to seeing more of these collaborations!

Oh, my! Dance classes are cancelled for an indefinite period of time!
It is posi-tute-ly time to practice some social distancing and we abso-tive-ly must keep our hands washed! It is for the benefit of society that we are respectful of one another in this time and look out for those who are at high risk to the novel virus of the new twenties.
As hard as it is to not pursue arts right now, it is best to help the community and the amazing workers in the medical field to stay home when possible and limit outside exposure. They need all the time and grace social distancing can help with right now.
I will sorely miss our weekly dance classes, but it is best to follow recommendations at this time.
Be sure think of those artists you love and support.
Be kind to the workers stocking the shelves in the stores and ringing up your groceries for you.
Tip your food delivery people.
Video message your friends and family. Help them out should they need it.
Take the gift of time that many of us are receiving right now. Most often these doors that seem to be closing are just a disguise for something else you need to focus on for the time being. Listen to what life is telling you, and accept its lesson.
Further updates on classes and Oddball 2020 will be posted as information is received. Thank you for your support of On Your Toes with Katherine Kyte and the On Your Toes Performance Company.
At this year's Odd Ball 2020 on April 25th, the On Your Toes Performance Company is presenting a teaser version of "Oh, The Melodrama! (The NEW Twenties!)" for the first time ever!
This fun dance romp is presented as a show within a show with nods to the Silent Film Era and all the stereotypical tropes that are not indicative of how movies were actually made at the time!
It is Open Mic Night at The Nighclub. The Damsel is the headliner of The Nightclub, which is run by The Villain, who is awkward and doesn't know how to tell her that they love her. The Damsel just can't even with The Villain, as she has too much on her mind, like trying to arrive to her shows on time and sharing the stage with others during Open Mic Night. The Hero comes to see and perform at the Open Mic presented that evening, and he falls madly in love with the Damsel, despite the prospects that are available from the other Nightclub Performers present. Suddenly with The Hero's affections present, sharing the stage on Open Mic Night doesn't seem so bad to The Damsel. The Gangsters help The Villain try to eliminate the competition, and help The Villain try to express their love to The Damsel. The Hero...well, he's not quite sure what The Villain is trying to convey with their unspoken tie straightening, but maybe an agreement can be reached? Will the Damsel share the spotlight? Will Open Mic Night be a success? What will happen?
"Oh, the Melodrama! (The NEW Twenties!)" may have an answer at the end! You'll have to get your tickets here to find out!
We love hearing about the leaps and strides being made in all varieties of dance, and during Black History Month, we celebrate the changes that are being made by our role models who are pushing for the acceptance and love they deserve in an art form they cherish.
Dance doesn't belong to any ONE people.
It belongs to everyone who wishes to pursue it. It belongs to ALL of US.
We all should be seen dancing.
Black and brown dancers are using their minds, bodies and convictions to change the world of ballet, inside and out.
Have you bought your tickets to the Odd Ball 2020 via On Your Toes with Katherine Kyte's Friends and Family link yet? No? Well, you better, because a Little Birdy may have told us that a THIRD of the tickets have already been sold to this event!
Tickets via our Friends and Family link are half off what you would get via the official event link, and each ticket sale contributes as votes to help On Your Toes with Katherine Kyte becoming The Best in the Universe for 2020! Not to mention every single dollar for this event is going right back to the Lodge for us members to do charitable work for the PDX community. How great is that?
Can't make it to the event? You can donate "votes" or buy a raffle ticket, so no matter how near or far you are, you know you can do good and help a community become a better place.
Get your tickets, raffle, or donate votes here!
That feeling of flying while you are dancing... it's indescribable!
We are working hard on our pieces here in the OYT Performance Company for The Oddball at the Peninsula Lodge #128 for April 25th! It's the Oddfellow's charity where groups compete to become the "Best in the Universe" via your financial contributions, of which every dollar is used for the Oddfellows to do charity work for the year!
Want to support a great cause and help On Your Toes be the Best in the Universe? Get half priced tickets here and support On Your Toes: http://www.keepportlandodd.com/on-your-toes.html
And feel good that your contribution will be helping us continue to do good work for the Portland, OR community.
Can't make it to the Oddball? You can also donate "votes" via the link above, which are also charitable donations that help the PDX community as well as count towards helping OYT be named the "Best in the Universe" as well! This is such a fun charity event, and one of the highlights of my year, so every dollar helps!
It ain't no big thing...just show her a little swing!
Working on setting some steps up to teach this week for the Performance Company for the Lodge's ODDBALL on April 25th from 6-10 PM! Tickets are already going FAST so be sure to get yours here NOW via the studio's Friends and Family link! These tickets are HALF priced, so you will definitely want to get your tickets through my link. 😘

Last year we did over $18,000 worth of charitable work! Help us help the Portland community. You'll be so glad you did!
Hello, y'all! The On Your Toes Performance Company members are busy getting ready for the 2020 Oddball at the Peninsula Lodge #128, and what better dance theme for our contribution to the show than "Oh! The Melodrama! The NEW Twenties" for our mini show! We are dancing to twenties style adaptations of modern songs, and of course there will be a Damsel, a Hero, and a Dastardly Villain in our little show this year. Expect sequins, many moustaches, a daring rescue, and lots of New Twenties style and flair!
But, Oddball? What is that?
Last year, On Your Toes with Katherine Kyte was named Best New Artist in the Universe for 2019, so you won't want to miss the Oddball this year on April 25th! Follow this link: http://www.keepportlandodd.com/on-your-toes.html
And get your tickets for $20, HALF the price than if you buy them through the website! Also, every ticket you buy through the studio's personal link counts as votes for On Your Toes to be named The Best in the Universe for 2020!
Can't make it to the show because you're busy or not local? You can also donate money through the personal link! Every dollar counts as a vote to us being the Best in the Universe for 2020!
Stay tuned for a raffle to also be added via our personal link for free classes and tickets to our show in October! Purchasing raffle tickets will also count towards being named the Best in the Universe for 2020!
The BEST part? Every dollar that is raised via ticket sale, raffle, and donation is going straight to the Oddfellow's Lodge #128 so that we can continue to do charitable work in the Portland area. We provide laptop scholarships for students, class scholarships for students who take from the Oddfellow's instructors in the building (including me!) and we also help the homeless, the elderly, and others in need however we can help out in this world! So not only do you get to enjoy two hours of amazing entertainment, yummy food, and delicious brews, you also get to FEEL good while doing so knowing your money is absolutely going to an amazing cause.
Hope to see you there, and stay tuned for sneak peek videos of our dances soon!
We have been back dancing for 2020, and boy, are the Saturday Open Adult Classes exploding! It's been so much fun and full of incredible energy. The only person missing is...YOU!
Come dance with us next week from 12 PM to 2 PM in the lower classroom at the Oddfellow's Peninsula Lodge #128. Your first time dancing with us is $15, after that it is $30 for TWO full hours of dancing.
Are you following us on FB? The link to our business page is in our profile here on IG. Be sure to stay in the loop for all of the classes offered by On Your Toes with Katherine Kyte on Facebook to keep on shaking your hips all year long! 💃
We had a great time in our new Open Adult Class from 12-2 at the Oddfellow's Lodge lower classroom! Bryan and Shelley were some new faces today, joining in with returning dancers Yael and Caitlin. Lizzy was also around before she had to chasse away for a bridesmaid dress fitting.
We also started playing around with some "melodramatic movement" for the Performance Company that will be performed at the Oddball this year! 😉 It's gonna be a "roaring" good time, and we really hope to get into the "swing" of it all soon.
Any guess for what OYT will be bringing as a performance theme this year? 💖
Join us next week 12-2 PM to move and groove and just have fun! We look forward to meeting you! Any and all are welcome. We are 100% inclusive.
This was from a couple of years ago, but worth a share still. Something I strive for at OYT is an inclusive environment. There is no judgment, for there is beauty in all types of people.
You will always be safe and included and challenged to YOUR ability.
What do you think of these amazing dancers?
Today was a dance class full of BOYS! Jesse, Andrew, and Robert all took a class from me today and had a blast.
2020 is a new movement: BOYS SHOULD DANCE!
Of course the end of break would lead to illness!
Due to Katherine being sick, the first class of 2020 will be on Thursday the ninth to prevent spread of illness!
See you then!
Fresh off of the success of our first full length show, Dance Macabre, we're taking a little break. Not to worry though, lessons will be starting up again in January! Feel free to visit us on Facebook for more details- link in bio ❤ We hope you and your loved ones have a safe and fun holiday season, and we can't wait for you to help us into 2020! 🎉💃🎉💃
