This came to me in an email from the Friends of Fort Vancouver. Please read it, share it, and help Lilian if you can:
Most of us in the Northwest experienced unpleasantries or worse during the snow and ice storm in January. A few folks were much harder hit like our artist friend and associate Lillian Pitt. Calamity struck when a pipe burst in her studio flooding her workshop, soaking tools and art materials beyond use, and leaving a trail of lost artworks in its wake. The Friends have joined with other supporters' efforts to hasten the restoration of Ms. Pitt's studio. Friderke Heuer's blog tells the story here: https://www.heuermontage.com/?p=55204.
Artists Analee Feuntes (a long time friend of Ms. Pitt's) and Susan Detroy (PRN Gallery in Eugene, OR) joined forces for a new exhibit opening February 7, 2024, and the Friends are encouraging people to purchase Ms. Pitt's works for a quick return of dollars for the restoration project. We have a generous selection of Lillian's works in our gallery as well as artworks on her website at https://www.lillianpitt.shop. There is also a GoFundMe account sponsored on Lillian's behalf: https://www.gofundme.com/f/lillian-needs-our-help
Any contribution is greatly appreciated -- good wishes most of all!
