The Vancouver Brewfest will return to Esther Short Park, Downtown Vancouver in August, 2022.
Organized by Cody Gray, the Vancouver Brewfest has raised and donated $90,000 since 2012 to local charities including: Second Chance Companions, Disabled American Veterans - Clark County chapter, Northwest Battle Buddies, MS Society of Portland, SW WA Humane Society, Bike Clark County, and Mount St. Helens.
The return of this annual “Celebration of Craft Beer” will see an updated name, logo, and ownership. Since the pandemic, many things have changed and Cody has decided to pass the Brewfest on to another organization that can sustain the celebration of craft beer and make it even better. After discussing with a few SW WA brewery guild members to get a general consensus, it was decided the best way to sustain and grow the event would be to split the two events and hand off the large summer event to the Washington Beer Commission and the local Northbank Brewers Alliance would start organizing a spring Brewfest spring 2023. Starting this year, the summer event held annually in August will be organized and hosted by the Washington Beer Commission.
“I’d like to thank the hundreds of volunteers, breweries, and fantastic past sponsors that came out to support our local charities and helped make the Vancouver Brewfest a fantastic event each year,” Cody said. “I’d especially like to thank my partner, Tammy Cleveland, for taking charge of the entrance area and helping me raise so much money over the years for great local charities!” Cody said he knows this is the best outcome given his life changes and inability to manage such a large undertaking going into the future. “While I’m sad I won’t be there organizing the event, I’m very happy to have found the perfect partners to take it over and keep it going. I know everyone is really going to like the improvements the Washington Beer Commission has in store. And I can’t wait to really relax and enjoy, for once, the event I helped create and love so much!”
