It was a real honor to receive the Best of Clark County award. A sincere thank you to everyone who voted for Art at the Cave. Our local paper, The Columbian offers a Best of Clark County Guide (linked in our bio) which showcases nearly 100 pages of top rated local businesses and organizations. Congratulations to all the participants!

If we could vote for the best art community, we would vote for you! You have come to us to share your art, host workshops and put on regular events such as Meditation, Death Cafe and Ghost Town Poetry. In this image, Carla Christian shares her work during the Artist Talk in February.

Thanks to everyone who came out on First Friday for the Lost & Found reception! The festivities continue this Saturday with an Artist Talk from 1-2.

This free and casual talk is a great way to learn more about the artists and their creative processes!

With over 100 photographs of various techniques, a darkroom installation and multiple videos, this exhibit celebrates 40 Years for Vancouver’s own Inner Light Photographic Society.

This weekend is going to be packed with creativity! Join us at the gallery Friday from 5-7pm for the opening of “Lost & Found” and celebrate 40 years of photography with the Inner Light Society.

This exhibit celebrates what has been lost as well as what has been found over the years. Four decades has produced work with the help of the darkroom and the desktop. This collective body of work includes over 20 photographers, a media installation, vintage cameras to the smart phone.

View the darkroom installation and walk through history as the medium changed and cameras progressed. Join us for the reception on Friday, August 7 from 5-9pm and for the artist talk Saturday, August 15 from 1-2pm.

Don’t Wait! Today is the day to work on that wearable art project! We are accepting entries to this funtastical exhibit up until August 15.

ENTRY GUIDELINES

🖌️ $15 entry fee paid through the website, each fee covers up to three pieces of art

💌 Send us an email to [email protected] that includes the following.

📸 Clear image of each artworks for consideration (each named with title and dimensions of the art, for example “sunshine12x12in.jpg” ) - Please do NOT include your name in the file title, as that will exclude you from our blind jury process

✍️ Title, medium, dimensions, price (include the 50%) commission fee

📝 Short statement explaining the work and how it fits the theme (max 3 sentences)

⭐️ Art must be original works by the artist

⭐️ All artwork must be available for sale

Exhibit dates: September 2-26
Entry deadline (extended!): Midnight Wednesday, August 15
Notification date: Thursday, August 20
Drop off date: Saturday, August 29 from 12-4pm
Artist Reception: Friday, September 4, 5-9pm

Thank you to everyone who came out to the reception on Friday! The exhibit, pne néw’i se ilepkúpax (nimiipuutimt) OR Rising Out of the Ashes: Stories of Resilience focuses on 2Spririt LGBTQ+ indigenous artists. It honors the history of 2Spirit elders and embraces the multitudes of human identity, love and compassion that is shared with the community through organizations like NARA NW. NARA NW offers native-centric services and resources for people of all kinds struggling with substance abuse. Any money earned through sales by the gallery during this month will be donated to NARA NW.

Please join us this July, in celebrating the beautiful cultures and people represented in this inspiring exhibit.

Rising out of the Ashes: Stories of Resilience

Join us as we honor and highlight area Native 2SLGBTQ+ artists in this special fundraiser exhibit. The gallery portion of proceeds on the sales of artwork in this exhibit will be donated to NARA NW. The mission of NARA NW is to provide education, social services, physical health, dental health, mental health and substance use disorder services for American Indians, Alaska Natives and anyone else who seeks their care. Look forward to an enlightening exhibit complete with an opening ceremony, dance and exhibit installations.

We had a great time at the Artist Talk on Saturday. A Huge Thank You to everyone who came out and to the artists who were able to share their time and talents with us. Thank you Jeanne (slide 1), Joyce Lee-Westdal (slide 2) and Buck Jeppson (slide 3).
