Musicians need to laugh too.
Some of the best moments happen between songs.
We keep things supportive, low pressure, and fun while building real playing experience.
If you're in the Portland / Vancouver area and want to connect with other musicians, message me what you play.

Bert from Columbia River Drifters laying down some relaxed grooves. It's about getting into the moment and enjoying the comaraderie. He's an inspiration to all in our workshops.

One of our instructors, Brandon at Mildly.Impressive.Music is with one of the busiest groups Baz Moto Music so I hope he remembers us when he goes on world tour.

Michael is one of the coolest and giving musicians you will ever meet. Never afraid to support live music where ever he is.

What’s the hardest part about just starting when playing at jams?
• Soloing?
• Remembering progressions?
• Jumping in at the right time?
• Stage nerves?

Curious what people struggle with most.

Jam Survival . . .Most jams use progressions like this.If you recognize this pattern, soloing becomes much easier. Any wind players out there? Treat them like gold! [email protected]

Practicing at home is one thing — playing with other musicians in real time is another skill.
Some local players in the Portland / Vancouver area have been meeting to build confidence and get more real playing experience together.

Leave space for other players. Even enough to set up for a solo paired with someone else. Playing through 1 -6 -2 5 changes can be successful if you don't think too much. A major scale over this type of Jazz/Blues turnaround can really simplify our ideas when playing over 4 chords. Now work on -3 -6 -2 5 and get set for the second half of "rhythm changes". 😎
