We have been quite disheartened by the onslaught of anti- LGBTQ bills that have been presented lately in the NC House of representatives. Specifically, HB 673 that was filed today. This amendment essentially vilifies, dehumanizes, and criminalizes performative drag and transgender and gender non-conforming people. Since we both perform drag, as parents, we would be arrested and charged with felonies for rehearsing a routine in our own home if our children were present.

All drag is a performative art. All feature films are performative art. As parents we have the right to decide what is and is not appropriate for our children to view. The idea that drag is s*xualizing children is ridiculous. My children have been to many age-appropriate drag shows or drag story times and I have never even had to pause and determine if there was anything overt or covertly s*xual. Now I will agree that all drag is not for all ages. But I am appalled and enraged at the blatant over-reach of this legislation as they attempt to tell me that they know what is best for my children. These are the same people that promote a celibacy driven s*x education yet would force my daughter to carry a child to term if she was r***d tomorrow.

They have outcries of “Protect the Children” yet still protect faith-based indoctrination. These “Christian” children’s programs that are statistically proven to be hotbeds of molestation and grooming practices. The same mouth that cries out against abortion rights, also cries out against providing for children once they are born. Instead of “Protect the Children” how about “Feed the Children”, “Clothe the Children”, “Educate the Children” or even “Believe the Children”, “Heal the Traumatized Children”, “Hold the REAL Groomers and Pedophiles Accountable” when children come out about being r***d and groomed by pastors and priests.

HOW DARE someone else think that they have the right to supersede my parental rights and authority.

Classifying drag or gender non-conformity in the same category as stripping, burlesque, or po*******hy aka “Adult Entertainment” is completely erroneous. My clothing has never been removed to anything less than a one-piece “mom style” bathing suit that could be seen at a public pool, beach, or any other age-appropriate performance.

No one is recruiting kids to be gay or trans, but heteronormativity is highly prevalent in our society. So much to the fact that children are dying! This post is already long, but you can see more information and statistics that validate this fact at www.trevorproject.org

This is the HB2 bathroom bill all over again. The goal here is to vilify a small portion of our community that has done nothing wrong. This is just the beginning of stripping parents of the rights to raise their children to be inclusive members of society.

Our greatest joy is bringing more amateurs to New Bern. Our first time performing was at the first New Bern Drag Idol! We both lost in the first round, but we had the most fun and met some of the most wonderful performers! So while we are not performing at this show, we have put our heart into organizing and promoting!

We have one week left until our competitors take the stage! We are so excited to see this show! The best part is that we have an amazing group working on this show together!

Raven E. Sanchez will be our MC! And if you have not ever seen her host, you are in for a treat!

Michelle Michaels is Miss ENC Pride and knows her way around a judge's table!

Giovonni Dinomight Addams was just honored to be ENC Pride's "Entertainer of the Year" and shows that the sequins and feathers do not simply belong to the queens!

Ivory Michaels is the dancing darling of ENC and one of last year's top level competitors in NBDI!

N'rajah Evating Sanchez is coming back! As the winner of New Bern Drag Idol 2021!

Austin Moore will be our DJ! And imagine a show without music! It would be pretty scary because I have heard some queens sing!

To Celebrate National Coming Out Day October 11, 2022, we published our drag page and want to introduce ourselves to you!

We are ENC's Amateur Drag Couple! We began our drag journey about 4 years ago but that was all thinking about doing it, but just celebrated our 1 year Dragiversary of our first performances on October 9th.

We are the host and main crew (seriously! Alana moves all the chairs and sets up/tears down for every show) for the every other month drag show in New Bern at the Garage for ENC Pride. Our next show will be on October 22, 2022.

We are a couple in and out of drag! We live together in Vanceboro with our 3 children. We just tied the knot at ENC Pride's first ever Pride festival that was held on October 8, 2022.
