Charity Haunt is a local charity group and every year we do a haunted house where all profits are donated to our local school in Van we also give guests $2.00 off their ticket if they bring a non-perishable food item which is then donated to those in need

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the tragic loss of our very own Pennywise. Greg was an amazing asset to our charity haunt. He loved every single moment of it from setting up, to scaring, to tearing down. Although he only got to participate one year before COVID ruined things for us, Greg and his family, become our family!

We ask that you remember Greg’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

There will be an announcement later of fundraising, donations, and funeral arrangements once those are made.

You’ll float too, Greg. We love you. ❤️

It’s with heavy hearts that we have once again decided to keep the haunted house closed this year. Due to the rise in COVID cases in the county, we just felt like this was the best thing to do to keep us, and you, safe during this time.

We will be getting together to discuss our haunted parade this Halloween so we can see all your scared little faces. 😈

We just wanted to say thank you to everyone who donated candy for Saturday. The amount of love you all showed was overwhelming! Special shout-out to Mountain WiFi (Aaron Dickerson), The Blushing Magnolia, Wharton-Barrett Vol. Fire Dept., Hawks Repair Service and Towing LLC, Van Volunteer Fire Department, Giovannis of Van and of course our own cast/crew of the Haunted House. We appreciate you all more than you know.

We hope everyone had an amazing Halloween, hopefully everything will be back to normal next year & we will be able to scare the pants off of you! 😈

Great news!! Charity Haunt has partnered up with Wharton-Barrett VFD & Hawks Repair and Towing this year! We want to bring some light to the community during these dark and spooky times.

We will be driving through Clinton Camp and Bosses Camp on Saturday around 3pm to throw out candy to the little monsters. We will also be set up as a drive-thru at Van Grade School during trick-or-treat hours on Saturday. We will have candy in a bag that we will drop into your candy bucket.

We will all be wearing masks and gloves and keeping social distancing in order to keep everyone safe.

We can’t wait to see everyone in their costumes, we’ve missed you all!! Hope to see you soon. Stay spooky, our friends. 🖤👻

We unfortunately have come to the decision to not have the haunted house this year due to COVID-19 and the guidelines seemingly progressing. We want to thank everyone who participated and made last year great! We had an amazing turn out and we were able to give VHS enough money to cover most college costs for high school students taking duel credit classes. We hope to continue to improve the haunted house for years to come and plan to use this year off as a way for us to make our come back better! Please bear with us and understand that this wasn't an easy decision to make. If you know of any buildings that we could have the haunted house in next year (2021) please let us know so we can contact the owner!

⚠️PLEASE SHARE⚠️

It’s a bit early, but we would love to make this years haunted house bigger and better than EVER!!! Last year was the best year we’ve ever had and we want to top it!

We have discussed fundraising ideas as well as rooms & characters for the haunted house but we want to hear what you all have to say. Comment your ideas, what would you like to see? What fundraisers do you think will do well?

Remember, all proceeds go back to the schools. This past years funds went toward assistance for college opportunities, buying books for college classes, incentives for attendance and much more.

Anyone is more than welcome to come volunteer and be a character in the haunted house (with parents consent for school ages)! To let us know you’re interested comment below or contact Deb & Chris Martin, Whitney & Andrew Bolton, Brittany & Greg O’Dell, or Joyce Pritchard Tyler!
