Our studio is home to a true vintage API console, consisting of a 32 Channel section circa 1977, with the original mega-headroom 312 mic pres and 554 semi-parametric EQ's, and an original 16 Channel section, circa 1972, the sound that launched the API reputation, equipped with beloved 550 EQ's. A better drum sound can not be had, and the design of the studio, with the three iso rooms in addition t

o the main space, is ideal for tracking a band live. Put all that together with great mics and the many years of experience of the staff, and you have a combination that ensures a positive recording experience, as close to a sure thing as you will find.

Our vintage Neumann M49s are a favorite for drum rooms and upright bass, but truth be told they’re CRIMINALLY underrated for so many other applications and sounds. Truly such a versatile terrific, we’re blessed to have a pair! Much love from Stagg Street! ❤️🦌
