Friday nights take a lot of moving parts and preparation—from our football team on the field and the marching band bringing spirit to the stands, to the volunteers behind the scenes preparing concessions and fueling our fans!

We’re looking forward to a great night of music, football, food, and Black Knight pride tomorrow!

The Van Buren Music Boosters are incredibly grateful to the Kurtz family for honoring the memory and legacy of Michael Kurtz with a generous donation to the Van Buren Music Program.

Michael was a longtime supporter of Van Buren music. He volunteered countless hours, drove the equipment truck for marching band, concert band, and show choir, served as Music Booster treasurer alongside his wife, Kathy, and made lifelong friendships through the program.

His daughters—Amanda, Bridget, and Laura—were all active in band and show choir during their years at Van Buren. Today, that love of music continues with the next generation of the Kurtz family, with Laura's children also carrying on the family tradition of being part of the Van Buren music program.

The Kurtz family chose to honor Michael by giving instruments to the program he loved, with the hope of helping more students discover their own love of music.

Thank you, Kurtz family, for this incredible gift and for helping Michael's love of music live on through future generations of Van Buren musicians.

Chelsea Campbell, Buyers Committee. This is her first year on the board. She has two kids - Isaac (8th) and Natalie (6th). Chelsea couldn't decide on a favorite song but has an overall love of music and sometimes wishes life was one big musical where you could break out in song at any time the moment felt right!
