For those who haven't been to Brewery Vivant, it is a must visit. The beer is great and the taproom is very cool. In fact, spend a weekend in that Holland/Grand Rapids corridor. It makes for an amazing beer vacation.

Sometimes they start with a name and brew a beer to go with it. This time, Grand Rapids' Brewery Vivant had the beer first - and then Jason Spaulding had a rough commute.

For as long as I’ve been drinking craft beer, I’ve been drinking Goose Island’s Bourbon County Stout. And with as many variants as they produce year after year, the BCS line-up alone has more range and nuance than some brewers will ever attain in their entire portfolios.

Meagan O'Brien sipped her beer and bit her tongue as the man next to her tried to describe to his date some of the 60 craft beers at a Milwaukee bar. Turns out, he didn't know his ales from his hefeweizens. 'She kept asking questions, and this guy just kept making up stuff,' O'Brien said.
