Chicago Street Theatre’s Summer Theatre Camps start in one week! We are ready to welcome all young artists to try their hand at the many opportunities we have to offer at CST.
For those who love to act, sing, or create a character, our performance camps are a fun-filled way for students ages 6-18 to get the experience of being on stage. There are different levels of acting classes throughout the month of June plus our “Yes And” improv camps where laughter is guaranteed, as well as our Characterization class later in July where you can portray your favorite characters while adding your own interpretative spin!
For those interested in working behind the scenes, our tech camps for lighting and sound start the week of June 8 for ages 9+ and our costuming and makeup camps start the week of June 22.
Next, our new Project Expression camp will give students ages 13-18 the chance to get a full theatrical experience with this workshop starting on June 8 and culminating with two stage performances of our summer musical production of “Ride the Cyclone” on July 18 and 19. Being split into two casts, all students will have the chance to be in a main-stage performance and run the alternate cast’s performance backstage. They will gain skills in script analysis, writing, vocalization, music, movement, puppetry, design, and tech.
No auditions necessary! All camps have a maximum enrollment of 12 and a minimum of 6. Seats are available on a first-come-first-serve basis so register your spot now at https://chicagostreet.org/education/summer-camps/.
