Pretty Good Cards

Five years ago, I started Pretty Good Cards with a tiny iPad, a crumbling marriage, and a firm belief that the world didn’t need another glittery card that says “You go, girl.” Also, we were in the middle of a pandemic and my mom was dying of cancer. Good times.

Now here we are: Five years. Hundreds of designs. Thousands of kraft envelopes. One wicked-full card closet.
 
If you’ve been here since the beginning, thank you. If you just found me, welcome to the weird little gang, and thank you. Without you, I’d be freelance editing or trying out for American Idol. Nobody wants that.
 
To celebrate, I’m doing what any overwhelmed one-person business would do: Giving away stuff I don’t have room for!

Could be discontinued designs. Could be unreleased weirdos. Could be a card I drew at 1 a.m. and still kind of believe in. It’ll be fun. It’ll be random. It’ll definitely be pretty good. And hey, if it sucks, it was free and mysterious!

Yesterday, I was out mowing the lawn, and met these two neighbors. We talked about guns and community; I shared my fears as a parent. They told me it’s not guns, it’s the “illegals.”

That’s what I get for engaging with a grown man on a tricycle.

I’m still grieving the last horrific mass shooting, but the fight to must continue. I’ve joined gun violence prevention activists across the country to learn more about the movement and how I can help.

I'm proud to donate a portion of all sales, wholesale and retail, to the Maggie Daley Center for Women's Cancer Care in honor of my late mom, Pam, whose right ear was significantly heavier than her left ear.
