Strawberry Festival Update 🍓
Well friends farming keeps us humble.
When we planted 80,000 June-bearing strawberry plants, we truly thought we’d have enough strawberries to carry us through the entire Strawberry Festival. Between spring freezes, changing weather, and a crop that ripened much faster than expected, our strawberry season has come to an end much sooner than we anticipated.
To be honest, we’re disappointed. We know many of you were hoping to come pick strawberries this weekend, and we were hoping to have them for you too.
This was our first year growing June-bearing strawberries, and we’ve learned a lot. Some things we learned in the off-season, but most come from being out in the field. We’ll take what we’ve learned and use it to make next year even better.
What has amazed us most is the support from this community. Over the last two weeks we’ve watched thousands of families walk the patch, fill baskets, make memories, and spend time together on the farm. For that, we are incredibly
Strawberry Festival is still happening!
This Sunday we’ll have:
🍩 Donut Eating Contests
⚽ Knocker Ball
🚂 The Barrel Train
🐐 Fun Farm Activities
🍦 Our brand-new Ice Cream Parlor
And plenty of strawberry treats including:
🍓 Strawberry Lemonade
🍓 Deep Fried Strawberry Uncrustables
🍓 Strawberry Funnel Cake
🍓 Strawberry Pizza
🍓 Our Strawberry Burger
🍓 Homemade Strawberry Shortcake
And if you stop by the Ice Cream Parlor, be sure to try the Strawberry Patch Farmhouse Creation.
So while the strawberry patch may be finished for the season, we’d still love to spend a beautiful day on the farm with you.
Thank you for supporting our farm, for cheering us on, and for giving us the grace to learn as we grow.
