You may have heard the name, but what exactly is the ๐๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ฎ ๐พ๐๐ฉ๐ฎ ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐จ & ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฃ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ?๐ณ
We wanted to take a moment on National Day of Charity to tell you a little about the VCPR Foundation!
Established in 2023, the VCPR Foundation was created to help make recreation, healthy living, and community spaces more accessible to everyone in Valley City. Through fundraising and community support, the Foundation helps provide opportunities for those who may otherwise face barriers to participating in recreation, while also supporting projects and programs that enhance the quality of life in our community.
The Foundation Board is made up of representatives from the Park Board as well as community members who have big hearts, a passion for Valley City, and a drive to do good in our community. From helping make programs and memberships more accessible to supporting the parks, facilities, and recreational opportunities that make Valley City a great place to live, the Foundation is all about investing in our community and its people.
Events & Initiatives:
- Play It Forward Equipment Drive & Open House
- Scholarships for programs and memberships
- Blind Date with a Book fundraiser
- Future Recreation Leader Scholarship for high school seniors
- Parktober Festival lunch, pumpkin patch, fun run, and volleyball tournament
- "Drive to Thrive" VCPR Foundation Golf Scramble
The VCPR Foundation may be young, but theyโve got big plans! With time and community buy-in, theyโll be able to help more people, support more programs, and take on bigger projects. They're just getting started and are excited to see what we can accomplish together! ๐คฉ
