Come join us for a delightful afternoon! The Valentine Area Arts Council will be hosting Cowboy Brad, a John Denver tribute artist, Sunday, October 18th, at 3:00 pm, at the Valentine High School Auditorium.

Raised in Estes Park, Colorado, singer, songwriter, and guitarist Brad Fitch has been playing professionally since he was 15 years old. “Cowboy” Brad specializes in original folk and western music. He has performed several times at the annual John Denver memorial concerts in Aspen, Colorado. Brad performed for the President of the United States during his 2001 visit to Colorado. A true outdoorsman and all-around American, Brad is a veteran United States Coast Guard officer, a YMCA Senior Director, and a National Park Service Wilderness Ranger.

Regarding how Brad approaches his music, “I intend for my songs to express the wonder of being alive on this beautiful planet, and I hope they will help listeners to feel relaxed, comfortable, and happy. If my music takes you to a pleasant place in your heart or your mind, then I have accomplished my purpose.”

Enter our coloring contest!

Take a sheet to color, and once complete, turn it in to KVSH or the Niobrara National Scenic River Visitor Center by October 16th. The VAAC board members will vote on a winner in each category, and the winners will receive a prize at our next performance. Our next performance will be October 18th at 3pm at the high school auditorium, featuring Cowboy Brad, a John Denver Tribute Band. Need not be present to win.

The Valentine Area Arts Council is holding a fundraising raffle. We will be holding the drawing in person at our last event of the season, held on Sunday, March 8th at 3 pm; you need not be present to win.

This is a list of the items you can win.

A trip for two on the river by tube, canoe, or kayak by Brewers Canoes. June 15-August 14, the date is subject to availability. Shuttle one way to the launch site. Floating will take approximately 4- 6 hours, half that time for canoe or kayak.

Golden Prairie Bison Deluxe education tour for two. Approximately 2-2 1/2 hours long, the date is subject to availability. Learn about the diverse flora, fauna, and permaculture - and get up close with the Bison. Light snacks and beverages are served on the flat-bed trailer.
