Santa Clarita Philharmonic

The Santa Clarita Philharmonic is a community orchestra comprised of musicians from the Santa Clarit The community orchestra concept was born last fall.

The Santa Clarita Philharmonic is a community orchestra comprised of volunteer musicians from the Santa Clarita Valley. The orchestra has over forty members from advanced high school students, to adult amateurs, to retired professionals. With the support of the William S. Hart Unified School District, our first rehearsal was held on February 5, 2013 at the Rio Norte Junior High School in Valencia.

We are seeking contributions from local businesses to cover expenses for insurance required by the Hart District and the purchase of music as well as to offer free classical music concerts to the public. We would also like to initiate an outreach program to allow us to provide musical instrument instruction to promising members of the group. Announcement for musicians, Tuesday December 5, from president Mark Elfont:

“Tonight’s rehearsal is cancelled due to the fire. We will rehearse on Sunday at noon at the Performing Arts Center. Please arrive by 11:30am to get set and be in place to rehearse at noon. Rehearsal Saturday morning at 9:30am at Rio Notre is for the the Sibelius and Hanson.”
