This Sunday! Fight Night 2026 at The Duke

The wait is almost over! Join us this Sunday, September 6, for an action-packed afternoon of amateur boxing at the Georgie Duke Sports Center.

With 25+ bouts featuring male and female athletes ages 7 and up, you'll see incredible skill, determination, and championship-level competition. Don't miss your chance to see who takes home this year's Northern California Championship Belt and the Best Fight of the Night honors!

Band Submission Open Today!

The City of Vacaville is seeking talented bands to perform at the 2027 CreekWalk Concert Series in Downtown Vacaville. Band submissions will be accepted today through November 6, 2026.

Lagoon Valley Parking Update

Beginning September 1, 2026, the new parking payment machines at Lagoon Valley will be operational, and the newly approved parking rates will take effect.

New Parking Rates
Daily Pass: $5
Annual Pass: $70
Senior Annual Pass: $35
Payment Options at Lagoon Valley

The new parking machines will accept cash, credit, and debit cards.

Please note:
Cash payments require exact change. The machines do not provide change.
Beginning September 1, 2026, a non-refundable convenience fee of up to 3% will be applied to all credit and debit card transactions. This is a city-wide fee approved for implementation for recreational activities at the January 27, 2026, City Council Meeting. The convenience fee is charged and retained by the City’s third-party payment provider, not the City, and is non-refundable.

Adaptive Recreation Community Day

Join Vacaville Recreation on September 19 from 4:00–7:00 PM at Play4All Park for a fun-filled, family-friendly event celebrating all ages and abilities!

Enjoy inflatables, games, raffles, activities, and more. Admission is FREE!

Inflatables, select activities, food, and beverages will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the Adaptive Recreation program. Your support helps provide inclusive recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

You may have seen notifications about an upcoming change to credit and debit card payments for City of Vacaville Parks and Recreation programs.

Beginning September 1, 2026, a non-refundable convenience fee of up to 3% will be applied to all credit and debit card transactions. This is a city-wide fee that was approved for implementation for recreational activities at the January 27, 2026, City Council Meeting.

The fee is charged and retained by the City’s third-party payment provider—not the City—and therefore is non-refundable.

Want to avoid the fee? You can continue to pay with cash or check at any of the three City of Vacaville Community Centers with no added fees.

Fight Night at The Duke returns Sunday, September 6!

Join the City of Vacaville Parks and Recreation Department at the Georgie Duke Sports Center, 720 East Monte Vista Avenue, for an afternoon of amateur boxing featuring male and female competitors ages seven and up.

Doors open at 2:00 PM, with the first bell at 3:00 PM. The event will feature up to 25 bouts, championship honors, concessions, raffles, and more.

Tickets: $25 at the door
Children ages 3 and under: Free

Yesterday, a striking welded steel sculpture by contemporary artist Diego Harris was placed on the CreekWalk Plaza Bridge at Andrews Park. Originally displayed in Napa in front of Gott’s Roadside, where it became a familiar landmark for several years, the sculpture now begins a new chapter here in Vacaville.

A heartfelt thank you to Local Edition Creative for your invaluable assistance in acquiring this beautiful new art sculpture for our community! We’re also incredibly grateful to the talented artist, Diego Harris for creating such a meaningful and inspiring piece.

Based in Upper Lake, California, Diego has been creating large-scale welded steel sculptures for more than a decade. Working primarily in steel, Diego transforms industrial materials into expressive works that celebrate strength, movement, and imagination. Each piece is handcrafted and designed to make a bold statement in both natural and architectural settings.

We invite you to come downtown and see it for yourself. During the day, take in the sculpture’s striking contrast against Vacaville’s blue skies and green trees. Then come back after dark to see it illuminated against the night sky.
