A friendly heads up for Lagoon Valley visitors

In coordination with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, City crews will begin vegetation clearing along the Lagoon Valley fishing pond shoreline on October 13 and 14 as we prepare for our February 2027 fishing event.

Crews will be using an excavator and dump trucks to remove and haul away Tulles from the pond shoreline. No road closures are expected.

Disc golfers may notice a temporary impact near one hole while work is underway. For your safety, please stay clear of the work area.

Thank you for your patience as we make improvements to the area.

Next up in our Department 101 series, Parks & Recreation: Explore. Connect. Belong.

Parks & Recreation is about much more than parks. From recreation programs, sports and special events to open spaces, arts, community facilities and volunteer and employment opportunities for local youth, there are many ways to connect with our community.

Whether that means participating in adaptive recreation, checking out Vaca-Con, celebrating at Merriment on Main, joining a class or sports program, enjoying time outdoors, or simply spending time with family and friends, Parks & Recreation helps create welcoming spaces and experiences for people of all ages, interests and abilities.

The department also looks ahead—planning for parks, facilities and open spaces that can continue serving our community for generations to come.

Take a few minutes to learn more about the people, programs and places that help make Vacaville a place to explore, connect and belong.
