Incase you missed Paul’s live last night.

A message from Paul:

After many years of doing what I love, I’ve made the difficult decision to retire from tattooing. As of December 31st 2026, I will no longer be tattooing. I will finish any work I have started and I will redeem any gift cards, for me, still out there. I will still be at the shop mentoring the apprentices. If you are wanting to book with me, I suggest booking ASAP.

This wasn’t an easy decision, but it feels like the right time. I have some health issues I’ve been dealing with that has made tattooing very uncomfortable for me. The tattoo industry has changed so much over the years, and while change is part of every profession, it just isn’t the same industry I fell in love with over 20 years ago. I’ll always be grateful for the years I’ve been so lucky to have with other artists and clients. Those memories will stay with me for a lifetime.

Before I move on, I want to say thank you to every single person who trusted me with their tattoos over the years. Whether you came to me for your very first tattoo, returned for several more, or simply supported my work by recommending me to others. I am truly grateful.

Tattooing has given me the opportunity to meet incredible people, hear amazing stories, and create artwork that means something special to each of you. It has been an honor to be a small part of so many lives and memories.

To my family, friends, staff, and clients who have supported me throughout this journey- thank you for your loyalty, your trust, your kindness, and your friendship. You gave me the opportunity to do something I was passionate about, and I will never take that for granted.

While I’ll be stepping away from tattooing at the end of the year, Starved Rock Tattoo will continue on, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for the shop. Kailee will eventually be taking over.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making this career so meaningful. I’ll never forget this incredible journey.
