Our UCSD Opus Statewide Honor Choir students are enjoying their day at the Iowa State Center in Ames. Their concert is at 4 pm. Congratulations to Elin Moore (6th grade), Amelia Russell (7th grade), Liam Davidson (8th grade), Emma Lappe (8th grade) and Sydney Rowley (9th grade) for representing our J-Hawk Vocal Music program!

UHS Vocal Music is hosting an All-State Chorus Audition Prep Camp. This event is designed to help singers learn pitches, rhythms, and appropriate style/expressive ideas for each tune. Students will experience four days singing together and building community.

*PLEASE NOTE: Students outside the district are invited and encouraged to register. Students must obtain an All-State music packet from their own school prior to attending)

We are searching for a new director for our program!

UHS Vocal Music boasts four curricular choirs: auditioned mixed and treble groups, as well as non-auditioned bass (80+ voices!) and treble clef ensembles. The program also offers three award-winning show choirs: varsity mixed, prep mixed, and prep treble. The students and directors enjoy robust support staffing of accompanists and assistant directors. Our elective ensembles enroll over 460 students!

UHS Vocal Music has earned a national profile with appearances at national, regional, and state ACDA Conferences and winning awards such as the American Prize in Choral Music. We frequently commission new choral works by industry-leading composers. This spring, almost 150 students will perform in the program's solo and small ensemble contest. UHS Vocal Music is a significant point of pride in the community. Parental support is exemplary and our facilities are world-class.
